Obama bill: $845 billion more for global poverty
Democrat sponsors act OK'd by Senate panel that would cost 0.7% of gross national product Sen. Barack Obama, perhaps giving America a preview of priorities he would pursue if elected president, is rejoicing over the Senate committee passage of a plan that could end up costing taxpayers billions of dollars in an attempt to reduce poverty in other nations. The bill, called the Global Poverty Act, is the type of legislation, "We can – and must – make … a priority," said Obama, a co-sponsor. It would demand that the president develop "and implement" a policy to "cut extreme global poverty in half by 2015 through aid, trade, debt relief" and other programs. When word about what appears to be a massive new spending program started getting out, the reaction was immediate. Obama plan ships dollars overseas – by the billions |
Darn, and here I have wanted to cut off foreign aid for years and this would seem he wants to give these crooked Govts. more which none of the people would see just as they never see any of the foreign aid. Why can't some politician think about trying to help our own poor and homeless citizens instead of giving billions to foreign politicians to put in their bank accounts. If this is true as reported, then it should be brought up in one of their debates. Wonder why Hillery hasn't mentioned this. Ron |
It's for the chiiildren......

:D
Roscoe, If it's for the children, then why are so many of them starving and getting no medical attention from the billions we already doll out to their Govts. Because their politicians are just lie ours and put it into their accounts or spend it on weapons to start more wars with. :( Ron |
