Winning the gas war in America
THIS IS NOT THE 'DON'T BUY' GAS FOR ONE DAY, BUT IT WILL SHOW YOU HOW WE CAN GET GAS BACK DOWN TO $1.30 PER GALLON.
__________________________________________________ _____________ Here's the idea: For the rest of this year, DON'T purchase ANY gasoline from the two biggest companies (which now are one), EXXON and MOBIL. If they are not selling any gas, they will be inclined to reduce their prices. If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit. But to have an impact, we need to reach literally millions of Exxon and Mobil gas buyers. It's really simple to do! Now, don't wimp out on me at this point...keep reading and I'll explain how simple it is to reach millions of people!! I am sending this note to 30 people. If each of us send it to at least ten more (30 x 10 = 300) ... and those 300 send it to at least ten more (300 x10 = 3,0 00)...and so on, by the time the message reaches the sixth group of people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION consumers. If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends each, then 30 million people will have been contacted! If it goes one level further, you guessed it..... THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE!!! Again, all you have to do is send this to 10 people. That's all! How long would all that take? If each of us sends this e-mail out to ten more people within one day of receipt, all 300 MILLION people could conceivably be contacted within the next 8 days !!! I'll bet you didn't think you and I had that much potential, did you! Acting together we can make a difference. If this makes sense to you, please pass this message on. I suggest that we not buy from EXXON / MOBIL UNTIL THEY LOWER THEIR PRICES TO THE $2.00 RANGE AND KEEP THEM DOWN. THIS CAN REALLY WORK. Keep it going . |
Ed...have you heard of the Hubbert Peak? Interesting idea of yours, but somewhat akin to pi$$ing up a rope!

I see how you can get all worked up over this but, it won't happen!, as was discussed on another thread, just conserve, change you driving habits, you know..complete more than one task when you leave the house or, on the way home, run your errands.
It will make a difference. |
seriously?
Delusional. Even IF everyone in America did this, all that it MIGHT do is hurt the gas station owner. I see the lines outside Valero. There is no loyalty or pride. |
Ya, as I stated in the other thread. the only way to stick it to the man is to cut back. One of the biggest problems in our country is that we as americans feel like bigger is better. How many full size trucks and SUV's do you see in a day with only a driver in them? I'd bet you can't count them on your fingers and toes!
Not buying from Exxon and Mobil provided stations will only cause the station owners, who are already struggling, to go under. |
I buy 2-300 gallons of diesel every day, which day do you want me lay my crews off?

Face it. There is nothing that we can do that is going to bring gas back down to the levels it was years ago. That is unless they can come up with a viable alternative fuel that would completely cut out dependence on oil. And I believe that this can be done, but not with our present day technology. I won't be around to see it but if everything works out, many of the children of today will. At least they are now starting to seriously address this issue.
