Jenna Bush hints that she may not vote McCain....
 

I guess the old saying holds true for many folks..

I commend her for exercising her right to vote as she pleases, but I wonder just what exactly it is that she sees in the opposition that gives her enough reservation to publicly state that she isn't supporting McCain.

What is the fascination with the spawns? I mean, we have daily coverage of Chelsea Clinton promoting her mom, Jenna Bush in this story....is there a reason we should give a shi'ite about either one?? I pay close attention to politics and certainly the round of elections we are in, but I find absolutely no reason whatsoever to take 2 minutes on the crapper to go over what either of these two have to say. I think it sealed Carter's reputation in my eyes when he said (while POTUS) that he consulted Amy on nuclear treaty issues....what a farce. **)

I wasn't posting so much as to the specific value in the discussion of politics as to the general discussion of age and political affiliation.

It seems that Jenna Bush, the progeny of the President (who happens to be a NEOCON) can't even commit to voting Republican (aka conservative) which goes to show you that there are a lot of voters out there that may end up being Republican one day, but tend to be liberal when they're young (or in college).

I don't know what it is about colleges and Universities, but it's almost like they fear decisive adherence to a particular view. There's obviously a value to being open minded and ready to learn new things while going to college, but the whole connection of college=liberal is interesting to me.

You see it not only here, but all over the world. When I was in Korea, the older generations loved Americans (we defended them against the North). The younger, college students hated us....they protested, supported reunifiction....etc...etc.

If Jenna Bush isn't going to vote for John McCain, it just goes to show you how powerful this phenomenon of "free thinking" tends to be among young liberals.

I wouldn't expect my children to vote the same as me, but I would expect that at least some day, they end up with the same values. Whether those two tie in together is worthy of debate, but you cannot deny that they have SOME connection.

Who gives a rat's ass who Jenna Bush votes for?

Is her opinion suddenly any more important than any other twenty-something?

I have a twenty-two year old daughter that just graduated from college with a 3.5 GPA and spouting off how the haves should share their wealth and take care of the have-nots.

I posed the following scenerio to her:

If one of your fellow students was getting poor grades, would she mind giving that student some of her "A's" to help the other student along?

Her response was "Hell no! I worked my butt off to get those grades! Why should I give them to someone who isn't willing to work as hard as I did?"
