Sandstorm in iraq
Anybody ever seen somehting like this? This started around 2:30pm and lasted till about 5pm. One minute is was slightly dusty but sunny and hte next, it looked like the devil was coming to spread some wrath!!! the clear pics were taken at 5:05 pm

Well yeah, I have seen that more than a few times. Lived in El Centro in the Imperial Valley of California (down on the border) and spent mucho time in Yuma, Az. and in the Mexicali Valley south of the border during the 80s.
Drove in stuff like that a lot...in a FIAT of all things. Fun, eh? Next time you go to the bathroom out in the field, just turn your butt towards the wind...you'll be clean and refreshed in no time. ;) |

I used to have a video a friend of mine filmed over there. It was daylight and you could see it rolling in. Once it hit, it became pitch black. Looking like hell was coming is a good way to describe it.

I also have some vids, nothing cool where it's coming in. I was outside throwing the football around and it was just a little dusty. then we came inside and started playing a big network game of command and conquer. Looked at the door and it looked like there was a fire outside because everything was orange.
I probably gained a couple of lbs from all the sand in my lungs! :LOL: |
