Press 1 for English, Press 2 for Obama

Obama says “I don’t understand when people say ‘We want English only.’ Instead of worrying about whether immigrants can learn English - they’ll learn English - you need to make sure your child can speak Spanish!”

For a great editorial opinion ....

Anbody notice Obama's position on faith based initiatives? (he's for them). Stole that page right out of GW's playbook. Anybody remember one of the first things GW pushed afer his first election? That's riaaaaght! Faith based initiatives. And guess who trounced all over that? That's riaaaaght! The democrats. Give Obama credit... he learned a lot from the Clintons. Wanna move to the center after the nomination? Steal the opponents planks from under him (NAFTA, welfare reform, etc during Wild Bill's days)

The only difference here? No besmirched (fondled, raped, abused) mistresses in the closet. Face it folks, Barak "Barry" Hussein Obama will be leading this once great nation in the near future. He will do everything he can to make the world "like us", from giving the UN the 95 Billion per year that they want for poverty and hunger, pulling the troops out of Iraq and Afghanistan, stittin down with despots from Iran to Cuba to Venezuela, raising the taxes of the EVIL rich (you and me) and nationalizing health care. Forget about the border fence. He's gonna need that money to fund someone to study the sex life of frogs and lizards. Crap, I'm about to blow a fuze. Glad I have hobbies.

Priceless.

Mike

Mike,
Frenchy was wondering if you would inform "o" that the fence is still possible if they would just hire the Humpin' Ho Sisters for their sex study.
Rates are more than reasonable.

Half the kids in school have problems with English, never mind Spanish. Lets spend our money on "our" kids first. I always thought Hillary would be bad for this country .... now I'm not so sure because Obama really scares me.

Time to write out a check for McCain.

VRM 07-11-2008 07:51 AM

I'm still voting for Ron Paul.

I think it's a good idea to learn a second, or third language. When O points his finger, and says it like that. I just want to puke! Talking about kissing A$$

VRM 07-11-2008 09:07 AM

I'd be a bit happier if our current Preznit could finish learning his first language!!

BTW, Mike, what exactly is your definition of rich? I think it is about 16-17% of US households that make over 100K, 6% that make over 150K, and 1.5% that make over 250K.

Obama has said that his tax plan will not raise taxes for any household under 250K (roughly 1.5% of US households over 250K), and will actually give tax cuts to most. Non-partisan analysis indicates that this is true in most instances, but not always. It also indicates that McCains plan will do little for most under 150K, but there are circumstances where those under 150K will benefit more under McCains plan than Obamas.

Learning a 2nd or more languages is ok, but I don't like the Govt. telling me I have to. Why not German, French, or any other language. Let the dam illegals from Mexico learn English. this used to be our country. If I go to their country then I would expect to learn their language, not have them change the law so their citizens have to learn English. :(

Ron

He speaks Texan as well as anybody I know.

I dated someone from Erie PA who would say things like 'This car needs fixed'. She was good at other things, so the missing 'to be' only bothered me a little.;)

So why are Texans complaining about the Mexicans not learning English when they don't speak it either?

So the yankees that don't mind them being here can understand them.

VRM 07-11-2008 10:14 AM

Ahhh - now it all makes sense!!

Back when I was in high school I only remember being able to take Spanish, English and German. I took Spanish, which I have mostly forgotten.

When I got my first job out of College, it seemed like a better choice would have been Japanese. Now I'd think Chinese would have been good to learn or perhaps Russian.

I wonder if high schools these days are still just offering the traditional European languages when our corporations are outsourcing all kinds of stuff to China.

With our costs going up over here, I might have to outsource my kids college education to China or India. Well at least they would not have learn a foreign language to go to College in India. But the high school better be offering Chinese just in case. :JEKYLHYDE

Personally, I am sick and tired of the percentage in this country that pay little or no taxes. And it is a growing number. And guess who THEY vote for?

Right on. And the same "poor" continue to shop at Wal-Mart (which effectively employs millions in other countries that wipe out the jobs of the "poor"). And who gets blamed?

Mike (who loves Wal-Mart's low prices and blames nobody)

VRM 07-13-2008 09:51 PM

FWB,
And who do you think buys all the products that make the rich rich?

Henry Ford had a pretty good idea - he paid his employees well enough to be able to afford the product he made.

If you lessen that salary (or remove the job entirely) then you remove your own potential customers. Sure - you have cut costs, but you have also cut profits.

Steve
