Buzz, Your Samaan Tree is much older than you might think. Heck, when I planted it, the General was just a small bush that we weren't sure was going to make it. Ron  |
Com'on Buzz, I'm just a paltry 239 lbs., aka.....lard ass......

I cun read and comprehendo, Perry...just messin wit youse.
Hell, I even heard folks say they think they gots mountains east of the Mississippi. |
Like Ron, I spent mucho time up there with the Big Trees. We used to camp under them after the tomatos were finished every year...usually had 2-3 weeks before school started. In those days, you camped right around the trees at Giant Forest and Lodgepole, but now they moved the campgrounds away from the big groves because of the damage to the shallow root systems. Coastal Redwoods are a bit taller and them ugly living dead basturds (bristlecones) over in the Whites are a bit older.
Living closeby and backpacking through all these mountains sorta makes you take them for granted until you travel out of California. |
I thought that anything in Texas and those states that is above sea level was considered a mountain. Ron :D |
