Carroll Shelby's First Race Car
AutoWeek.com
" This is about as rare is it gets: Carroll Shelby's first race car, a 1949 MG TC, will be sold at a Barrett-Jackson auction in October in Las Vegas. " http://www.autoweek.com/apps/pbcs.dl...8/newsletter01 |
"It's been a frequent favorite on the vintage race circuit--where auction officials say it should stay."
What does this mean? Do they wish to imply the winner of the auction would have it continue to be a "frequent favorite on the vintage race circuit"? Interesting to see what Barrett Jackson sell it for. :D :D |
I am surprised they would take it to Barrett Jackson as they have did away with the reserves. R.S. is getting more really top cars because they let the owners put a reserve on them I think.

" The first car that Carroll Shelby drove in a road race & the car that started his racing career. In 1952, Ed Wilkins let Shelby drive this MG TC in his first race, which he won. From this race, he went on to become a legend in the automotive industry. "
http://www.barrett-jackson.com/appli..._LotNumber=819 " This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to own an important piece of automotive history " |
I like the information on Lot 811, 1966 Shelby Cobra 427 S/C re-creation. This car was previously registered as CSX 3060 until it was discovered that there was another CSX 3060 (like maybe the real CSX 3060). There must be an interesting story behind this one.
