What the Candidates drive

From MSN, I thought it was interesting.

Obama, Ford Escape Hybrid, before that a Chrysler 300C.
Biden, '67 Vette given to him by his father for a wedding gift.
McCain, Cadillac CTS sedan.
Palin, VW Diesel Jetta.

Former POTUS' drove what (as their personal car)?
Seems to me Bill Clinton had a Mustang?
Who else?

That piece of chit Clinton had a El Camino with Astro Turf covering the bed so he won't get rust stains on his knees and elbows.
May have had a Mustang to makes runs for Trojans.

Interesting - all 'American' cars except Palins. Though, when you get right down to it Biden is the only one who really has an American car. Most people don't understand that domestic car content is made up of a lot of foreign parts these days. I imagine some idiot union guy (probably from Ford as Obama has one) will get bent out of shape about Palins choice of car and blog about it and it will get picked up by the MSM as being a legt issue.

Bidens stock did go up a couple of points for me for his choice of car though.;)

More telling would be an answer as to when any of them last actually drove their car. I'm sure that Biden doesn't drive his Vette on his "commute" to DC, McCain & O'samabama I'm sure haven't driven in a good long while. Sarah probably gets the prize for most recent & most miles.

Steve

Are you making this a pro-American vs. Foreign car make issue?

This would be pretty narrowminded considering the Government's unscientifically based witch hunt on diesel technology. That Jetta is better for the environment than any of the other cars. (I bring up environmentalism only because of Obama's switch from the 300 to a hybrid).

I wonder when O switched to the hybrid in relation to when he announced his run ?

Not at all...read the rest of what I wrote. Todays 'American' cars are full of foreign parts, and Hondas are built right in the US. As far as I am concerned it is a non-issue, but (as I mentioned) I'm sure there is some jackass who will think it is one.

I'd rather focus on real issues like taxes, the economy, Iraq, and so on, but every time I bring up taxes - all the conservative types on this forum run away.

Didn't Clinton drive a Monica?

PANAVIA 09-09-2008 11:51 AM

On Bill; Monica was his humidor, A Mustang was his ride.

Mitt Romney drove a Late Model Mustang.

I heard once Howard Dean drove a LeMans or a GTO.

other than that Reagan had a WWII Jeep.

Bush, drives a Classic Bronco on his ranch. One of his earliest TV commercials shown him driving it out in the badlands. Couple of years ago he gave fuc-ing Putin a tour in a big diesel ford 4x4. I would guess a Ford Man.
