Ron,
I don;t have a problem with smilies, especially as it does help define a sarcastic comment from a regular one. Two words of text and 100 smilies might be a overkill, but I would just ignore them.

Perry,
You are missing the point. I don't want him to break it down, I want you to break it down so I can find out if you actually know what he is talking about. Posting something does not show understanding about it.

And for the record, I do not agree with Obamas tax cut. I agree with McCains tax cut even less. Obamas cut will do more to spur on the economy than Mccains will. Those small business owners will also reap the benefits higher spending levels of 'the little guy'.

Steve

Steve,

To bad we can't take the best parts of both tax proposals and combine them. Then maybe we could come up with a workable plan that would help all people.

Ron

I am a small business LLC, and I have a tax professional for my returns. Do I have complete knowledge of business taxes, of course not and neither do 99% of all business owners. McCain's proposal would lower my taxes by 10%, that's all I really need to understand.

Again....you completely missed the hedder and needed instruction to fiind it?. You also labled the article as 'pretty bogus'. Explain.......

427 S/O 09-15-2008 08:17 AM

Come to think of it, your really not looking for anything but a win!. your not interested in the details, because you never post any details. To be so desperate and bring up the subject of 'smileys' because you don't understand a joke!. Is desperate.......

VRM 09-15-2008 10:32 AM

I said "you initially posted a bunch of info on tax plans that was pretty bogus."
The word 'initially' means first. Your first post was:
http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/show...51&postcount=1
and was VERY bogus. I've already explained WHY it is bogus in post #8. Please go back and re-read.

I did not miss the 'hedder' (did you mean 'header'?) as I found the article you posted, but I don't think you understand the details of it. I want your interpretation of it to see if you understand the details of it. I'm an engineer, I thrive on details.

So lets keep it simple...you want a tax cut, and you will get the biggest one with McCain. Fair enough. I want one too, and the biggest one I will get (along with 85% of the country) is with Obama..

This is a little less simple, but is still quite relevant. What does your business do, and has business dropped off in the last year or two? There are plenty of small businesses that have had a lot of declines.

Steve

Your snopes reference 'is' bogus, they have been wrong many, many times. I thought you would have known that?. As for the TPC, they nothing more than a liberal think tank.
It's understandable why you quote both.

Mr. Norquist is president of Americans for Tax Reform (ATR), a coalition of taxpayer groups, individuals and businesses opposed to higher taxes at both the federal, state and local levels and he's a fair conservative beating up on both parties.

Hedder....Your correct, I'm use to talking about exhaust hedders and mixed them up.

'you want a tax cut, and you will get the biggest one with McCain. Fair enough' Whew!!

Is business slow?, of course, I have some idle equipment but some expenses endure,
insurance, bonds, quarterly taxes, less fuel but I rather be buying more.

VRM 09-15-2008 01:24 PM

Perry,
Snopes got this one right. Most of what you quoted in your first post is outright crap.

ATR is a biased conservative thinktank. They have a 'comparison' of tax day between the two candidates. They post all the instances where McCains tax plan looks better than Obamas, and none of the instances where Obamas looks better than McCains. At least TPC shows the positive and negative (with references) for both candidates. Why can't ATR do that? Are they afraid of the better points of Obamas plan as well?

With regards to your business, you did not say what you do, but I think that most businesses would do better if there were more customers willing to spend. There is also a very good chance that your increase in business gained by having more of the country get a tax cut (essentially an economic stimulus package for 85% of American families) would more than offset the increased taxes you would pay. And you would have the benefit of no capital gains for small business under Obamas plan.

What brand of hedder are you using? Hooker, Hedman, Borla?

427 S/O 09-15-2008 01:35 PM

Ernie, I know this might be difficult for you but..just search 'snopes wrong again'. when you finished reading, probably tomorrow, let me know which one you like best. How about that for garbage. You never fail to jump, before looking.

427 S/O 09-15-2008 02:03 PM

Steve, simply put, you rely on any liberal post to make your point, whereas, I post fair assessments when I find them.

When I worked for the 'man', there were 5-6 mechanical and electrical engineers close by. After I built a bike and later the cobra, our conversations amounted to them asking me 'how do I'. I would say hold on a minute, your the engineer, I'm suppose to be asking you!. Plenty of book smarts but, no common ..........

I built my hedders from 'U' bends and recently helped someone else build theirs....

Are you serious???
Your 'fair' assessment source does not post the parts of McCains plan that could be viewed as negative. My source posts the negative of Obamas plan. If my source favoured Obama they would try to hide Obamas negatives like your source does with McCains.

Engineers tend to be a curious bunch, always looking for more information even if they are quite capable of figuring it out for themselves.

And unless you were using Hedman Hedders (TM) it will still be spelled 'headers'.

427 S/O 09-15-2008 05:30 PM

Hedman could be where I purchased the bends?, it's been 4-5 years. Anyway, It will always be 'hedders' AFAIC

According to The Tax Foundation, in 2005 the top 1 percent of taxpayers (AGI over $364,657) earned approximately 21.2 percent of the nation's income (as defined by AGI), yet paid 39.4 percent of all federal income taxes. That means the top 1 percent of tax returns paid about the same amount of federal individual income taxes as the bottom 95 percent of tax returns.

http://www.taxfoundation.org/press/show/22652.html

A question I will pose to the group is how much more should folks in the top tax bracket be expected to pay? When is enough, enough?

Ron61 09-16-2008 04:47 AM

Stentor,

For the most part I agree with you that the wealthy should not be penalized to support the worthless and those that won't work. However, those that do work and try to raise a family on say $50K a year would be hurt much worse if they had to pat 40% of their income in taxes than those making $500K and above. I don't have any solution to this, so don't ask. But I do know a few that make millions and they do not pay hardly any taxes as they have so many loopholes to use.

What would be your solution to the problem?

Ron

FWB 09-16-2008 10:52 AM

why its easy....smaller government=less taxes

Ron61 09-16-2008 10:59 AM

Good idea. But it will never happen no matter who is elected. Govt. has become over grown and bloated and just wants more to get larger.

Ron :(
