Obama's not so clean adds

According to a study released monday by the not very conservative-Univ. of
Wisconsin Obama was negative 77% of the time in his ads compared to McCain at 54%.
I guess the CARPET bombing is on the wrong side.

This is a fine example of how to lie with statistics.

If you bothered to read all the information you would find that the report says that Obama has ONLY been more negative since the GOP Convention.

An excerpt from one of their reports:
"In general, the campaign advertising appears to be mostly about Obama and less about McCain. Over 90 percent of the ads aired by Obama are positive in nature and do not mention Senator McCain. In contrast, approximately a third of the McCain campaign’s ads are negative, contrasting the two presidential candidates. None of the ads aired by the RNC are positive -- all compare the two candidates, referring to Obama negatively. “This campaign is about Barack Obama, not John McCain,” explains Goldstein."

I'm not real fond of Obama but this kind of GOP crap does not fly either.

Maybe you did not hear about the study- it was on the news this am, so where did you get your info, i see no info on that,i guess we jsut have to beleive you. Look up the study from the Univiversity, i did not make it up. Mr Pure is not so clean. Lets see on Monday Obama was a good boy ,so we will start
the count from there. lol
I think both run negative add's. but one runs on being Mr. Clean.
We are screwed no matter who runs. Both will bankrupt us, one sooner than other.

That a little misleading, the study was done between 6-13 Sept, during that time you are correct, and it's about time the Dems started to fight back!

Because we've been carpet-bombed over the past 10 days with political ads full of "Lies, Half-Truths and Contradictions" -- mostly from the McCainiacs, you'd think that the folks at the nonpartisan Wisconsin Advertising Project would say that Johnny Mac has been Mr. Negativo since the conventions ended.
Nooooooooo. The WAP says "56 percent of the McCain campaign ads were negative, while 77 percent of Obama's ads were negative" between Sept. 6-13.

Joeg,
I actually read University report you refer to, as well as some of their other reports (one of which I quoted).

McCain and the GOP have been more negative since the start of the Presidential ads, Obama has only been more negative for the last two weeks.

Go to their website and do your own reading.

And I do agree - we are screwed regardless of which major candidate wins.

Ok, i stand corrected. now that im home i will read the complete report. As is often the case the news leaves the details out.

Joeg,
Here is an interesting bit from one of the reports I mentioned:
"Obama featured the flag in over 68 percent of his ads. The flag appeared in approximately 37 percent of Senator McCain’s television advertisements."

Some wanker on this forum seemed to think that McCain having a bigger flag on his plane made him more patriotic, or better able to lead the country, or some other dumbass conclusion. I guess this stat makes Obama almost twice as Presidentially capable as McCain.
