Vote Them All Out Of Office!

We have been sniping and complaining for weeks about who will solve our nation's woes! When in fact, neither candidate can do it alone.

If you want to send a message to the Government that we won't stand for any more of their BS.

VOTE THEM ALL OUT OF OFFICE. You want to send a message to Congress or the Senate? This will get their attention REAL FAST.

You want term limits? Vote them out. It's that simple.

Congressmen run every two years. So, if we are not happy with the way things are going, VOTE THE INCUMBENT OUT AND GIVE THE HIS OPPONENT A CHANCE. IF HE SCREWS UP, HE'S GONE IN TWO YEARS.

We forget that we can actually change the Senate reps COMPLETELY every 4years. And we can change the Congress every 2 years.

Forget Democratic or Republican. They all suck!

When it comes time to mark your ballot, just DON'T vote for the incumbent.

It's that easy!

I am pretty much there too.

cobra bill 10-10-2008 03:04 PM

Ahhhh if were only that easy! for some strange reason people like incumbent politician I like to consider myself a liberal, but do you think I'm happy with the likes of Nancy Polocy and Harry Read or for that matter Barney Frank or a whole host of others, we are forced to vote for the least of 2 evils, it seems both sides are stuck in the same mire.

May be if we all got together as Americans and not be so divided we could take back our country! I think its too the parties advantage to keep us divided, they will always conquer as long as we are divided!

Here in ct they, not me will re-elect that crook DODD cause its a liberal state. I think if he killed someone they would still re=elct him-its sad.

I think this election might just be different. Everyone has lost something this year and most are looking to blame those in power.

Timing might be just right to vote em all out!

I agree. You vote one crook out, you only vote in another. All we have to choose from is professional politicians.

Can a normal person get elected to a national position? Doubtful. It takes millions of dollars to do that. How do you get that money? By selling out to those that give you that money. If not, no money and you won't even be mentioned anywhere.

For many years I have felt that the House of Representatives should be like jury duty. You serve one 4 year term, and then you go back home. You don't spent 50% of your time trying to be re-elected to the next term, because there is no next term.

Oh well. That will never happen, so all we can do is vote for the least of two evils.:(

Vote for the Devil you don't know and give him a chance to do good. If he doesn't, two years later he's gone. And they don't want that!

Here's an idea: (following on Silverback's idea) Have the House of Representatives be elected for only ONE four-year term, AND have the would-be representative have a MAXIMUM income of, say, under $100,000. Limit the amount of money to be spent on the campaign. Since there are no incumbents running, have the candidate spell out EXACTLY what they plan to do if elected. NO political parties, just candidates running on their own ideas.

I like your idea, I would also reduce the time frame of the election to 6 weeks and require the FCC to force the media outlets to cover any candidate that gets enough votes to be on the ballet for free just like the emergency broadcast system is a requirement of the license to broadcast.

In that way the money is out of the picture

Smokingcobra2 10-12-2008 09:09 AM

Seeing it would take a vote by those in office now to change all this- IT WOULD NEVER HAPPEN, but what a perfect idea, thats why it wont ever happen. Like you and i voting to elimanate our own job.

House is a two year term.
Senate is six years, so we vote on 1/3 of them every two years.

Lowest approval ratings in history for Congress, and Pelosi and Reid think they know why?
Give me a break.

As a lifelong Conservative, I would have to agree.
I voted for Bush FOUR TIMES, and this last one has left me with a bad taste in my mouth.
McCain isn't much of an answer, he's like a schizophrenic old man.
He'll go off for no reason on some people, then sit idly by and let others run all over him.

I live in Arizona, and I don't like him, don't trust him, and shiver at the thought of actually casting a ballot for him in November.

(I was in Texas, voted for Bush as Governor twice before he went to DC.)

:-)

jhv48 10-12-2008 01:03 PM

All the above are great ideas but they would never happen because they rely on the members of Congress and the Senate to enact them.

Much simpler:

Vote them all out of office and see what happens. Could it be any worse? Let's find out!
