Glad I'm not the only one... :LOL: Wait, 7th generation Texan? That explains it! I'm a mixed breed, grew up in Kansas, but I spent 15 years in Texas. All of my family is from there. I hate to be so cynical, but maybe Obama needs to win. If listening to his own words is not enough to give you chills, I can't help you. All those "progressives" who can't even remember the Clinton years - let alone Carter - will only learn when they get burned. They won't listen to reason, maybe when the nation falls to pieces they will wake up. The wife and I are okay, secure jobs, a little money in the bank, kids all gone. I have plenty of ammo and my home is very secure. Bring on the Mad Max days... |

There are many suffering from BDS (Bush Derangement Syndrome) who are not even old enough to remember Clinton's follies. As one who remembers too well the "malaise" of the Carter years and the economic abyss, I'm hesitant to vote for a replay with even more far-Left fervor. In a nutshell, I'm not really a McCain fan so I'm not really voting for him. I'm simply voting against Obama and "Bozo" Biden - and not really expecting much in return. To each their own. |
The run up to the last depression was lead by the Republicans, and it seems this one was too, and last time it took a Democrat to clean up the mess!

Oh, I'm well aware of his revisionist history claims - he even reformed Welfare! (Yeah, right...) Balanced the budget & saved Social Security with the biggest financial shell game in 40 years. Actually I was talking about the great depression, but had it not been for the relentless accusations and investigations he would have been a great president, and all you ever got for your 64 million to investigate him was a blow job, and he was lying about it.

Well if you're a die-hard Dem, there's no need in me pissing in your ear. You choose to regard Clinton and his ilk as you wish, gloss over the "inconsistencies".... :LOL: I'll go with the facts, the words from his own mouth, the actions he took (or not) that were against the interests of the nation, and his complete lack of consideration for anything other than his legacy. Even the Looney Toon Dems in power today think he's a liability and just grit their teeth and smile when he shows up. The Great Depression was unseen by ANYBODY in any party in 1929, and I can take many of Roosevelts "Great Society" moves completely apart. Desperate times called for desperate measures, but 75 years later the taxpayers are STILL taking it up the poop chute with what has now evolved into Socialism in our gov't. What truly ended the Great Depression? World War II. Believe me, I think Bush has made some bone head moves in his second term, but we can't afford the sort of change Obama wants, certainly not now. 40% of the stock market is gone, jobs are now being lost (though the Dems had to squeal "recession" for 18 months to help bring it along) and then obscene taxes will be driving the last nail into millions of financial coffins. All this progress, and look where we are now.... |

I'm STILL barricaded inside the NeoCon Compound here in the Arizona desert.
I got ammo, lotsa ammo. I venture out for groceries and fresh water, but always keep plenty in reserve. I've managed to horde 6,000 gallons of 91 octane gasoline and 200 pounds of AA and D cell batteries. After the election, I'm sure I'll be able to finally turn off all the spotlights and shut down the generators for the first quiet night's sleep in seven years.... .... cuz things are gonna change for sure if Obama is elected. He promised. |
