The Mouth of the House!

I don't know if this is true or just some more of the mud slinging, but thought I would post it and everyone can make up their own minds. I didn't bother to check Snopes or any of the other myth places.

The Mouth of the House!
Facts:

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi's home House District includes San Francisco.

Star-Kist Tuna's headquarters are in San Francisco, Pelosi's home district.

Star-Kist is owned by Del Monte Foods and is a major contributor to Pelosi.

Star-Kist is the major employer in American Samoa employing 75% of the Samoan workforce.
Paul Pelosi, Nancy's husband, owns $17 million dollars of Star-Kist stock.

In January, 2007 when the minimum wage was increased from $5.15 to $7.25,
Pelosi had American Samoa exempted from the increase so Del Monte would not have to pay

the higher wage. This would make Del Monte products less expensive than their competition's.

Last week when the huge bailout bill was passed, Pelosi added an earmark to the final bill adding $33 million dollars for an "economic development credit in American Samoa".

Pelosi has called the Bush Administration "corrupt".

She should know.

Ron

Hmm.... according to the Snopes article the non-voting representative for the island wanted the island to be exempt from a minimum wage increase. So the Democrat representative wanted the people to remain poor? Did not want them to make more money? I am sorry, but I find it easier to believe that someone else (Pelosi or not) promised the representative something in return for requesting this.

Let's just start up a new rumor. Notice in the Snopes article that there is a direct link to HJ Heinz (think John Kerry's adorable wife - remember her?). So it must be John Kerry that was trying to influence the bill ... and since he supports Obama, its all his fault. But since Dick Cheney is the "Head" of the Senate, it must be his fault.

So what should we do? Maybe go out and buy some stock in HJ Heinz? Eat more ketchup? Start some more rumors to piss off liberals? Blame Bush and make the liberals happy?

What a crock of $hjit. Anybody tired of this crap?

i stopped buying heinz ketchup after the last election, only hunts now.
teresa...and don't forget pronounced Ter-a-sa (sniviling Biotch) really rubs
me the wrong way. Kerry must really like a strange piece.

warren not trying to be difficult or anything but, i won't get tired until my eyes shut for the last time. evil wins when good men do nothing. some one profound said that, i just can't remember who right now. :D i think i'm suffering from sometimers disease. sometimes i remember,.... sometimes i don't.

I know it is easy to check as I have them on my Favorites list. I was just to lazy to go look. And I was going to the range to shoot and have just now got back and cleaned my gun. It is really nice here today and I had to turn the air conditioner on for a few minutes when I got home.

Ron :)

Kerry is a 'male' gold digger, second time around with a wealthy woman, the first one wised up. Hunts ketchup taste better.

Kerry likes the money. Period. Did you know that quite a while ago, before he got rich by marriage(s), that he actually lived in his car for a while? Not a joke. He is nothing but an empty suit and a gigolo. A total waste of human skin.

FWB, you are NOT alone.
I won't get tired until my eyes shut for the last time either.

Those telling us we should just "let it be" aren't pissed off enough.
Don't know what it takes for them to finally grasp reality.

If the taxation thing doesn't bother them, ask them this;
"How much did you pay in federal and state income tax last year?"

I'm amazed at how few people actually know!
Oh, they can tell you how much their tax refund was with a gleam in their eye.
(Like they got a bonus or something?)

They might tell you how much they paid if they owed taxes.

But the majority of Americans have no idea how much they pay in taxes.
Just trying to make it personal - cuz they damned sure can't comprehend the big picture.
All those "rich people" should pay more, and they don't think it actually affects them.

The top 1% of all people that pay US taxes, contribute 40% of all the tax money collected. Read that sentence again. If you increase that percentage higher as Baracamania wants to do, do you think some of these rich people might relocate to some other country? Maybe start investing their money in other countries with much lower tax rates? Do not kid yourself, because when they do move, the middle class has to pay more taxes to make up the revenue loss.

Give 95% of all wage earners a tax cut. Sorry, approx 40% of all people that have federal taxes withheld, do not pay any federal tax. So if you want to give a tax cut to 95%, and only 60% pay taxes, you have to GIVE money to 35% of all people that have federal taxes withheld.

That is called WELFARE, and its the backbone of any Socialist program. If I was dirt poor, I'd be working on Obama's campaign, working for ACORN and voting at least one hundred times. I love free money.

The sad thing is our Federal Gov't has grown so huge that if instead of taxing income they taxed individuals (total amount needed divided by population = the amount each person owes) probably more than 90% of the population couldn't afford "their fair share."

Absolutely true. But if the legislature would trim the fat out of the federal budget (estimated at about 25%), things would be a lot better.

The government is just too damn big, spending our money like a drunkin' sailor (my apologies to any Navy person).
