Health - Son in great health.I have over a year in not smoking. Life is Great !!! Sorry it sucks so bad being a Lib. But Libs have always been about being unhappy and pissing & moaning about everything. |
Like him or not, Ted Stevens will never serve a day in jail. I am not up on Alaska politics, but NPR claimed he has stiff competition. But then, they also have been saying the same thing about McCain from day one. It IS afterall, NPR. Other than that, he's got a good shot at being reelected. Laugh all you will, but Folks from Massachussets have been relecting a criminal (Teddy) for YEARS! But, he knows how to bring home the bacon. Ted Stevens does too.

Everything you said is similar for me. Worked my ass off for a long time and retired at 54 1/2, beating my target by six months. And Obama wants to redistribute my wealth? Guess he and his embarrassment of friends believe its a lot easier to legislate away my money as compared to using a gun on the street. I am truly amazed (make that incredulous) that approximately half of the voting public favors Obama. It just reinforces the old statement that 50% of your friends are more stupid that you are. The other 50% of your friends are smarter than you and are voting for McCain. Obama sees the US wealth as a pie, and he wants to determine who gets what portion of the static pie. McCain, on the other hand, wants to grow the size of the pie, and let the people decide how to divide an ever increasing pie. Very basic. Not too hard for anyone to understand. |

Bawany makes Kennedy look like Mother Teresa. John Fitzgerald Kerry is just a gigolo with a good job and a ultra-rich wife. By the way, JFK stands for "Just For Kerry". I'm only ashamed of the political mess here in MA on days of the week that end in "day". |

And if 392 is sitting on 6 figures for his retirement he is doing a lot better than most Americans (before the drops). Steve |

I played pool with Bill Weld once back when he was Gov. I liked the guy, and had hopes for him going a bit further. |

(This should be interesting.....) I've made out quite well since the Clinton years - despite a brutal 2000-2001 divorce. Trickle down is the American Way, Liberty and personal freedom left intact. "Bottom up" thru confiscatory taxation damned sure won't do it! :JEKYLHYDE |

Obama, on the ultra left wing-nut platform, wants to institute a new economic policy ... its called "Trickle-Up Poverty". It used to be called "welfare", but Socialists like to use new names for failed policies of the past. http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/c...BO_Marxist.gif But we digress from the reason for this thread. The scum Senator from Alaska. Who cares what party he belongs to. He is a criminal. Lock him up. Hell, they should lock up a lot more of our legislators. |

Trickle down works great in some cases, but not all the time. And it can cause recessions if the middle and lower classes have no spending power. Look up Keynesian economics. Personally, I think that anybody serving in Congress who gets nailed doing this sort of thing should have all possessions taken from him that were given by the public, then he should be pilloried in the capital of whatever state he served. Did you hear about Wilkerson? She could get 40 years! Even Deval Patrick thought it might be best for her to step down! Nothing will happen to her though. Steve |
Let's not beat around the Bush now! I would like to see some good old fashion frontier justice...like hang all those bastards that lied , cheated and stold from the American public and include company employees that went along with the planned cheating. We could start with Congress and CEO's and then work down the ladder.
Perhaps we could make the scary Bill O'Reilly the "hangin judge" and then maybe Sherriff Joe Arpile (sorry for the wrong spelling), the man tripping the trap door. We could spare a few libs to help haul all the bodies off for burial in a protected off shore area. Am I a sicko or what, Old Bill |

I wonder how far the corruption goes through out the legislature? I'd really love it if she turned into a Federal witness and dropped a bunch of dimes. Oh, but she is a liberal democrat. We forgive you. We all know how difficult a time you had as an oppressed minority. Good old governor Cadillac De Ville and Mayor Mumbles really have egg on their face for backing such a known reprobate. Give me a break. That slut should be locked up for a long time. And the best part is that when she is convicted of that felony, she will not be able to collect any of her state pension. It must be something in the water in her district. She will be the third politician convicted of a felony. |
I'm convinced most of our elected officials face a drain on their honor and character (if they had any to begin with?), it might be the campaign process, the ego boost or the 'deal' making once in office?. Stevens, wilkerson and a bunch of others pretty much proves it...IMO.

Ah, yes!
Let us not forget the irrepressible Marion Barry.
And the D.C. citizenry who re-elected him. After criminal convictions. |

I'm applying for a job in your cabinet. I live west of Phoenix.... :D Stevens is trying to cash in on the Reaganesque likable old man routine - can't be mean to him..... They need to show him the door from the ballot box, let him deal with any legal trouble on his own time. From what I've heard about his little scam, he's guilty as hell and playing dumb. If nothing else, throw his ass out simply for playing dumb! You want somebody so easily "victimized" by his own "mistakes" running your affairs? If his only crime is incompetence, he does not need to be holding a public office. I believe there's alot more to it than that... The thing that drives me INSANE is when you're caught - you're caught! Resign from office so somebody can do the damned job! Mark Foley and Larry Craig are the most recent sexual deviants to get their weenie in the wringer and I supported EVERY effort to remove them. Betraying the public trust with such contempt should get them out of office NOW. Over the years, the "conservative" Republican party has had its share of trouble. Where they differ from the Dems is that they are usually quick to shove them out. Remember Jack Ryan? How about old Bob Packwood? Hell, even the California/Conservative Lite Republican Schwartzenegger has skeletons in his closet. Now, should I start listing the Democrats and their LONG list of idiocy? I'm not talking about allegations and sketchy testimony. No, no, no, let's leave the internet sleuthing to the pros on the Left. Let's just go straight to the facts, shall we? Their party will do anything to protect them, because there's hardly a crime heinous or lascivious enough to weigh on the conscience of your garden-variety Liberal. They are only outraged when they perceive something amiss across the aisle. In their own glass house, anything goes.... |
