flight service stations privatized, level 1 towers privatized......
i work in one of the above mentioned facilities, nothing but truth there. the union is the only entity working to let the public know what is going on.

So? Many reasons for privatization. It is often used to cure laxness and inefficiency of unionized quasi-public entities. I still fondly remember Reagan firing all of the ATCs when they tried to hold this country hostage...that was a good day.
Somehow I find it impossible for any labor union to take a position which does anything to promote the everlasting progression of the human condition.

In all my dealings with Unions over the years all i felt they ever did was to protect the lazy worker and slow things down. All you need to do is look at the car makers.
$60.00 an hour to screw in a dash board.

So how much do you get paid with benefits for sitting in a chair? Yes there are problems with unions protecting the worst. But most of management use unions as an excuse for not doing their job. I've had some good long talks with mid and upper management where I work. They blame the unions for everything. Jim

The only time I have ever felt any sympathy for a union was the (predominantly) women that worked for 411/911. When I worked for phone companies they were measured on the time that they went to the bathroom. They did not get the huge salaries that the other phone company union workers got.
The other union people (not the operators) would vote to strike so that they could get an extra minute added to their break even though they would sit around the switch room playing cards. The operators would have no salary when they were on strike, and when they went back they would gain that extra minute of break, but be out many weeks of pay. The other union people would get lots of overtime to catch up on everything - the operators would often see their hours reduced because people would start using phone books instead of calling 411.

The phone company had plenty of them, too.

No chair for me, only my car seat. Been in medical sales for 30 years, straight commission-
no work no money. If more people where paid for what they actually do and not the time spent at work, alot m ore would be accomplished. Only have to look at the unionized
state workers as an example of how unions protect a whole class of lazy people. joeg
