Anyone Know Anything About These
I just received a brochure in the mail today about a heating unit that I have never heard of and it sounds to good to be true so probably is. But I thought that I would ask if anyone on here has ever seen one of these.
The stuff came from a Biotech Research and it is called an Eden Pure Quartz Infrared Portable Heater GEN 3. After reading all it is supposed to do I really would like to know if anyone has ever seen one or knows anything about them. They seem to be located in Canton, Ohio from the papers. Of course it had the usual two pages of raves from supposedly customers who had bought them, but I disregard those as they could be outright made up. Thanks, Ron %/ |
I know a guy who has one. His house is warm (but remember it really isn't THAT cold here). He swears by it, but I frequently think he's an idiot, so....

Way over - priced. Just a lot of hot air from the marketing department. I'll email you a copy of Consumer Reports article on Quartz Radiant Heaters. I just bought a Vornado Electric Fan-Forced Convection heater and a Holmes Quartz tower radiant heater. The Consumer Reports article says the $80 Holmes unit outperformes the $400 Eden Pure unit. There was another thread on these heaters, but I could not find it. If anyone else wants a copy of the Consumer Report article, send me an e-mail. |
Thanks warren. I kind of figured they were about the same as the free ones that you get but have to pay that price for the wood cabinets the Amish make for them to set in. If they worked that well no one would have much of a heating bill. I really didn't believe the so called satisfied customer who wrote that they only had to use their regular heater when it was zero and below.

So right Warren, CR should be a must read before purchases.
