Clearly its going to take a helluva lot more than 9.11 and the entire meltdown of our financial system to get people to wake the f&^k up.

You are correct in observing this govt. we elected has created a scenario that our kids, grand kids and great grand kids will be compensating for.

It has gotten to the point where the greed of the few outweighs the need of the many.

"It has gotten to the point where the greed of the few outweighs the need of the many".
I think that's it in a nutshell.

1% of America owns 51% of the wealth and it's been growing.

The problem hasn't been old geezers, the infirm or even welfare recipients popping out babies. That is but a minor burden to the folks that do all the work and create all the wealth in the USA. But the hidden bums that collect vast free portions are killing us. And they are not liable. Because that is the beauty of corporations ...no liability and anonymity. And US corporate law is how it's done.

With 51%, these hidden bums can, and do, purchase vast propoganda, entire media, that implies the fault lies elsewhere. To blame poor folk, they point to social programs that don't amount to peanuts. To blame the middle class, they curse labor unions like they are evil entities out to destroy America. They teach the four letter word, HATE, as in hate unions, hate socialism, and the ever so gullible public has been buying it. Instead of bringing the rest of wages up, the sermon is to bring the trendsetters down, way down. Human nature is to obliterate rivals ...as in the game, Monopoly. Last man left standing. And US corporate law is how it's done.

Heck, the labor movement in America is why we, you and I, even exist as we do. All of us here reading this forum today. We are the middleclass. We should be thankful for our beginnings. So are we?

All middleclass standards of wages and income are derived, from what a few brave souls were willing to bleed and even die for. The middle class is here ...in America... because of them. Each of us in this forum, almost middleclass to the man, so far owes our great American standard of living to these few heroic men, as brave as any soldier anywhere, perhaps braver. Braver to fight an often unrecognized, belittled and unsupported cause.

And because of them, we yet take back some of the 49% that is left from the very top echelons thievery. And the top doesn't like it. The evil middleclass in America must be crushed. Why? Because here is where it is first rooted. Nowhere else really. And US corporate law is how it's done.

Not in China. Not in Russia. Not in Mexico. Not in South America. There things are "right". There is only the rich, the poor and dead labor organizers and no middleclass.

No obnoxious middleclass demeaning glorious corporate profits.

And soon ...here too. Unless we change corporate law. Soon.

Wes :D

Now that's a rant... ;)

Wes,

I have never heard North Dakota described quite like that, but I do agree about the cold weather. I have only been there a couple of times and one of them was during the Winter. Never really wanted to go back.

Ron,

Yes. OO
It's been cold too long. ;)

And did I tell you about the dark short northern days this time of year? Course northern summer has extra long days. But for now, I'm trapped in my cabin.

A few years ago, I worked on a project in Modesto during the summer and it was downright strange to see the sun nearly straight over head and down by 9 PM in the middle of the summer.

And then, when I do go out, my wife bought me a lanyard to hang her car key around my neck. Just humiliating. :o
It reminds me of the string my mother threaded through my coat sleeves that kept me from losing my mittens when I was a kid. Yeh, she dressed me funny, too.

If you promise to not use the snow blower maybe she won't make you wear the keys around your neck.

When I was a Freshman in high school I lived in Lawrenceville, New York which is up near the Canadian border. My Father worked on the St. Lawrence Seaway. It was beautiful up there in the mountains and the Thousand Island area. And the people were the friendliest that I have ever met. I loved the Summer but the Winter sure ruined it. Some nights the Northern Lights would be so bright it was almost daylight with color.
