I just got a call from my contract supervisor, he tells me I need to cut back on my WOOD by 25%.
Good thing I got more WOOD than average. Too bad for the 3 guys I got to layoff..:CRY: You all need to step up your WOODY matter requests, jobs depend on it. A new day is coming(BO 2008), that new day will require us all to sacrifice(HRC 2008). Trees must die in order to maintain the common good.(Scott S 2009) What will you do to place yourself in this historic moment? I urge you you all young and old, rich and poor, tear down those walls, put away those silly things, better the common good and become a WOOD consumer! Scott, those things happen when you have too much wood. It may be necessary to bury the wood deep in some box and wait for a while...until the need for the extra wood is felt.

Scott, How long does it take a new tree seedling to become large enough to harvest? Is ther a good supply of tree seedlings available for planting? Is the quality of the new trees as good as the older trees?

The seedling supply is excellent, both Oregon and Washington require replanting within two years(right now is planting time) and for the most part trees are planted at twice the mature stocking of about 300 to the acre. As for quality the seed stock has been taken from the area the trees were cut in and side by side you can't tell much difference at all. I planted 20 acres of trees on our own property 35 years ago, they will more than pay for my grandchildren's college. Need some WOOD? Scott S |
