My Doberman Thinks He's A Mongoose
Yesterday a neighbor was over to look at my newly acquired BDR and the dogs (Coonhound, Doberman, Weimariner) were hanging with us when I fired up the engine. Instantly Jake the Doberman goes bat**** bonkers, running around in circles, barking BARKING at the car, finally nipping my neighbor's calf, biting the heat shield on one of the side pipes, and then finally biting the front tire before I shut the engine off. The other two dogs were giving me looks like "Whoa, what's his problem?" As soon as the engine was off, Jake gave me a look of "Gee Dad, I haven't a clue what came over me?"
Jake is restricted to the kennel forever more when the BDR comes out to play. I'm just relieved my neighbor isn't a lawyer. Joe in Boerne TX :cool: |

Maybe the dog needs some type of ear protection?

Must be a Doberman/engine thing . My Doberman would be sound asleep in the yard until I started the gas edger . Then he would come over like a bat out of you know where , barking , lunging , growling and attacking the edger until I turned it off ... then he went back to sleep like nothing happened .
I used to have some fun by asking one of my kids to get me the edger and then watching . |
