Dem's Petition Against Rush Limbaugh!!
I suggest 'O'NO' + gang, get off the personal agenda and get to work!. He had a meeting with a group of CEO's and I believe that's good, as a matter of fact, his entire economic team should consist of CEO's from every sector of our economy. They create jobs...........

The difference between most CEO's and members of congress is.... is...
is there? crooks? no over paid? no moral? no jail time? no contributing members of society (in a positive way)? nope |
Bill, Now that yo have so aptly pointed out the differences in them, maybe they should be required to wear badges stating what they are. Nope, that would most likely get some of them shot. Ron  |
Who then would you suggest J.T., I don't know of any others better quaified?. Surely not the jacka$$ who can't even use 'turbo tax'.....

To the tune of the old Johnny Mathis tune: "It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christm
It's beginning to look a lot like Moscow,
Everywhere you go, Take a look at the Five and Ten, Shut down two days ago. It's beginning to look a lot like Beijing, With ACORN "volunteers" on every lawn. But the freakiest sight is the IRS goons Soon, your savings will be gone! A ton of social(ist) spending bills, Sure to give Bowney and Chris a thrill! Kids to help Grammy and Gramps, Get on the bus to the re-education camps! It's beginning to look a lot like Orwell was right, 'Specially when the Federales always in sight! It's beginning to look a lot like....Holy Sh*t! Everyone's waiting for the KGB to hit! |
notice I said "most"... If I implied that I disagreed with you, I don't.
Forbes, for example, seems to be worthy of some respect. It isn't a simple equation. What isn't needed is status quo. It is hard to find a worthy "leader" in a society which rewards criminal behavior and labels it (perceived) success (no matter what the cost) (Take Pelosi.... no really take her). |
five billion for ACORN , its the new way of real change, this guy is from Chicago alright.

Do not remember where I read it... maybe a security poster at work. A Russian quote that said something like "we will attack on all fronts, external and internal. If we cannot defeat from the outside, we will do it from within."
Looks like they are winning. This is the problem with democracies and representative republics (that's what we are, not a democracy). People in a democracy will eventually vote themselves into socialism because they can. A representative republic is designed to prohibit this (pure genious!), but it depends on one thing... honest, democracy loving representatives. When those representatives love nothing but power, they will, on our behalf, grant us our democratic desires of socialism. They win either way. The rest of us get screwed and wonder why the masses who love government (liberals) don't get it. Because the process is so gradual, the same masses never see it coming (kind of like Twain's boiling of the frog.) And the ones who do (conservatives) get treated the way our kids treat us when they hit that rebellious stage. But a few years later, they begin to understand that Mod & Dad weren't so stupid after all. God told Lot to go into the city to find just one just man, and if found, he would spare the city. But Lot could find no one fitting the bill and the city was destroyed. Our saving grace is that there are just men & women in our City. There is still time to save this great City. Mike |
Funny (Well, maybe not so funny)this was brought up on the same day I received a copy of this quote from Norman Thomas, the Socialist Party candidate for President of the US. He said in a 1944 speech:
"The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of "liberalism," they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened." He went on to say: "I no longer need to run as a Presidential Candidate for the Socialist Party. The Democrat Party has adopted our platform." |

What really creates jobs (or un-creates them) is consumer demand. Ceo's, corporations and employers in general merely belatedly attempt to fulfill the demand, if they can make a buck doing it. I say if because there is absolutely no altruism ever involved; just profit. Not that there's anything wrong with that. I do wonder where some of these "Ceo's, corporations and employers in general" were thinking the money (aka the demand) was going to come from when they fought legislation restricting moving production overseas. Near as I can see, I guess China will be the next country to buy the stuff, dang it. I don't care what the Rush Limbaugh's or Michael Moore's say; I hope this mess gets straightened out and soon. The parties can fight over credit later. Wes ... |
J.T., I agree with 'no more' status quo. With what were experiencing now, I believe that's come to an end....I hope?.

You got the nutts to do the same? Scott S |

I one time had to lay off 12 guys when the economy tanked when Carter/Reagan were in. Unfortunately, I held on to them a bit too long, partly out of the goodness of my heart, but more because I couldn't believe how quickly the house of cards, and therefore profits fell. I ensured that every single one of them had a different job before I gave them notice. We lived on $15k that year and, for one thing, my kids had to drink powdered milk which they didn't like or deserve. All the bills got paid, but it wasn't easy. But a man's word is his word. Deserving has nothing to do with it. Yeah, I got the nutts. ;) Wes ... |
The problem of job creation is the ablity to make a profit, and that is not possible as long as we do not protect are cost from imports . There is simply no room to make a profit against cheap imports. Look around , ever industry has been removed from production in the U S. Name the benefits from imports, we have been sold a line of BS that WE neeeded imports . They needed us .
