Nissan to buy Shelby Inc

The rumors of a hostile takeover of Shelby Inc by the Nissan corporation have now been confirmed. "Da Bunnies"(tm) have the first of the new CSX13000 series cars to roll off the Nissan assembly line early this morning.

Strangely enough with Nissan's relationship with Renault, these cars are sourced from France. Shelby was quoted as saying, "Well if they [the French] can finally get the ****s to kick some pirate butt, I guess we can let them build some chassis."

Bill you have the series wrong though. CSX 9000 is the aluminum bodied Brock Coupe.

Oops, I did not mean to say Brock Coupe. I meant to say Shelby Daytona Coupe.

Got my attention...

Assuming there is some m&a financing out there , I would expect to see further consolidation in this area... just a hunch ...but Superformance and Shelby looks like a natural...

Shelby further added. "These chassis aren't built by English winos pounding out panels on tree stumps under bridges. They are built by French craftsman who have access to excellent, yet economical French wines and are skilled in the art of the "french" wheel panel bending in state of the art open air production facilities. Unlike our fiberglass, carbon fiber, rolled aluminum or pressed aluminum bodies, the new CSX13000 series uses what we call bent galvanized steel panel bodies."

I'd imagine all of the auto manufacturers may have new and strange bed partners before its all said and done. Looks like Chrysler just made themselves a deal...
