Swine Flu 1976
Did any of you get a swine flu shot in 1976?
I was at Lowery AFB in tech school and the entire AF had to get inoculated, all of us the day after was sure it was a plot by the Ruskies to take over the US. Within 12 hours every one of us in the barracks were on our knees... I haven't had a flu shot since. As I recall one poor soul down south, died of the flu. More than 30 died of the inoculation. I was 12 too. My dad contracted it while we were at Boy Scout camp, he was the Scoutmaster. We thought he was going to die. He didn't come out of his tent for 4 days, which was like Robert Duvall in Apocalypse Now not coming out of the helicopter to surf. Then my mom came and got him. He's been real pissy ever since. :mad:

I just saw on the news where some boy I think it was in Texas has became the first person in the U.S. to die from this flu. The big fear is it may combine with some other flu strain and mutate into a real killer.
