Way back in my wild and feckless youth, I was involved in the automotive aftermarket. Around the late 70's, Detroit was really starting to feel the Jap car pinch. There was a story then that one of the Big 3 went out a bought a Toyota from a dealer. They took it in to their R&D dept and took it apart, piece by piece. After much study, they concluded that Toyota could not possibly build and sell a car that good. Even holding it in their hands, they decided it did not and could not exist.
So troubles with Management in Detroit is NOT a recent occurrence. Now, with the help of Gummit committees, that understand neither autos nor money, nor sales, nor marketing, nor manufacturing, they are SURE to succeed. |
Way back in the 70's the G took over a famous whorehouse in Nevada and tried to run it (no joke). They went belly up (no pun intended, but funny none the less). If the G can't make a profit selling pu$$* or whiskey...:cool:
