Where The Worst Drivers Live
I was kind of surprised at a couple of the states and where they ranked, but did guess correctly on the worst state. I was surprised that California is so high up from the bottoom.

Quite surprised too - coulda sworn they were all living around here!

Where The Worst Drivers Live? Chinatown!
|
St. Lucia, West Indies. Traffic at a busy intersection or roundabout down here is truly a viable spectator sport.

They overlooked this: http://video.hosuronline.com/traffic1.asp

Funny thing was everywhere else in SF people drove pretty well. Orlando is pretty nuts as well, easily the worst in FL. |
I wasn't at all surprised when I saw where Hawaii ended up - right
behind New York and New Jersey. We also have the same ratings for our roads. |
I think the worst driver lives in my house with me.. At least last night she did.
|
I'm originaly from California, drove most of my life in that state, drove commerically all kinds of vehicles all over the country.
Now that being said, I thought California had the worst drivers....Wrong! Arizona has the dopiest, uneducated with regards to state laws, and some of the most unconsiderate knuckeheads around. Driving in California is like driving the Indy 500 everyday..you got to have some skill and know what your doin. Since moving to AZ..I'm now one of the "Knuckleheads". Old Bill |
Have any of you been to Quebec? I wouldn't say the drivers here are bad, but they sure are aggressive. Most Quebecers, especially those from the Montreal area consider the rules of the road to be mere suggestions rather than laws.
The first thing I do if a traffic light turns red is to look in the mirror before pressing on the brake. I have run a pink (you know, a red that isn't all that red yet) light thinking that I was stretching it a little bit only to look in the mirror and watch 2, 3, 4, or more cars follow me through. Wayne, That is the norm here in Hawaii - you go through a pink, look around for any cops, but then see several following you through - no worries. They delay the other side's greens for a couple of seconds just to keep them safe. |
Spend some time driving in DC. No way this place is better than 49.

They tried that in Montreal quite a few years ago at which time it became known as a "double red". The red would come on in one direction several seconds before the red would go out in the other direction but it didn't take the Montreal drivers very long to figure out that they could now run an even longer red. The result was more accidents so they switched back to the regular light rotation process. They couldn't control speeding in the residential areas so they have put 4 way stop signs at just about every intersection. It is more difficult to speed but now virtually no one stops at stop signs any more. Wayne |
#37? ohh come on .....
They must have followed Louisiana style politics when deciding who went where. The more you paid the better spot you got. #37? ......... We must have paid A LOT to get that far up the list :3DSMILE: A LOT |
I don't know where the worst drivers live, but they drive in front of me all the time:CRY:
If you want a real driving experience, try I-285 around Atlanta:eek: It's the only place I've ever seen cars passing an ambulance that was on an emergency call%/ |
Yep!, when I was commuting from Senoia, it was not really commuting. It was defensive driving.

Then there are the 97 year old 4 foot tall Grandmas driving full boat Caddies and Lincolns in the left lane of the Interstate at 35 mph. You can't see them but you know they're in there! AKA Florida Frogs [a little bump showing BELOW the rim of the steering wheel. |
