So, since it's going to be Government Motors is it really getting anything? It's simply like another welfare program with a huge budget - they will probably start telling us when it will go bankrupt as with SS and Medicare.

We are so screwed.

Not in our lifetime. AND it will all be 'forgiven' when the company gets handed over to the UAW. Write it off now, 'tis gone forever.
'Steering towards bankruptcy...' = Private investors to get hosed...AGAIN
Just wait 'til the bottom parts of the food chain start to fail; THEN we'll see some cash being thrown out...or will we?
If the firms invested in GM tank, will BO help since they are evil speculators (ie.; capitalists)
If the parts suppliers get wiped out; will he help since they are evil capitalists contributing to global warming? GM makes big news (and garners big swing state votes) if 'saved'. But what attention will a 2-3000 employee mom & pop get? I never thought I would live to see the day when the USA went careening into socialism.

I'm tired of responsible business owners like Tom, belly aching about irresponsible, poorly run companies like GM.

What is it about you hardworking, well run, high quality, companies? How do you expect GM to compete with you? It just isn't fair that you work hard, put out a fine product, pay your bills, and act responsibly.

We must subsidize mediocrity! Bonuses all around at GM I say!
