Dissapearing Car Door
|
Been around for a couple of years and I think it is an awesome design. Get rid of door dings completely.

Steve,
That is a car that I did not know existed. Thanks for the post. Research time. |
I like it. And I would bet it is worth a lot of money now.
Ron :) |
Joe,
The Kaiser Darrin is GRP (fibreglass) just like the Corvette. I've seen a couple of them in person and they are pretty neat. Ron, They only made a few hundred between '53 and '54 IIRC, but I have no idea what they are worth these days. Steve |
This was on display in one of our autditoriums. It was need then.
Nice to see they used the Fox in downtown for their video. :D |
Seems to me I saw a K-D that same color on one of the auto auctions. Don't know if it was Barret, Jackson or some other. Saw the car when I was a kid.
Kaiser had a whole family of brands. Kaiser-Darin, Kaiser-Frazier, Kaiser, Henry J, maybe more. |
I've seen that promo before...and it's still cooler than an ice truckers nuts!
I had a Mark VIII..and they picked a perfect car to showcase the technology. It had very long doors, and was still a PITA to get in/out..especially the back seat. |
