I saw one of the new Camaros in a parking lot next to my gym yesterday. It was actually a bit better looking in person than just seeing it in pictures. It was some stupid orangey/red colour that looked like grapefruit.
Still not as good looking as the 2010 Mustang right next to it (probably rental cars - this was a hotel parking lot). Steve |
I feel that GM and Chrysler missed the train leaving the station.
Ford redesigned the Mustang way back in 04-05 and built a new following along with Shelby on the band wagon. It's such a cool car and the 2010's are "out of the park". On the other hand, Callengers and Camaros' look like "puffed up over weight want a be's". They took way too long to get with the program....like I say..The train has left the station. Hopefully, I'm very wrong. Bill |
I appreciate a nice ride, no matter what brand it is, but I've never been able to like the GM cars enough to buy one over a Ford. I know that many argue that Ford had a bit of a dud with the Pinto, but it seems that GM has just had so many misfires. These are the people who brought us the Corvair, the Vega, the Chevette, the converted gasoline/diesel engines that were all recalled in the mid-80's, the mid-70's pickup trucks with the rear fenders that rusted through before you were halfway through your payment book, and so many other poorly engineered products. I had an '94 Pontiac for a company car and pieces just kept falling off of it. The car was a cruel joke. It had a fine engine, but the rest of the car was garbage. My mom bought a new Buick a few years back that has had outrageous repair bills over its 80,000 mile lifespan. Innovative ideas are fine, but poor execution or under-building the product ruins the final effect. I'm happy that Ford has not had to depend heavily on the government welfare program just to continue to exist. I tend to keep cars to around 200,000 miles and my T-birds, Mustangs, and F-150's have never let me down or needed major repairs. I wouldn't criticize anyone for preferring GM cars, but I'm going to keep buying Ford until I get a bad one.
