Right hand drive cars

While I rarely ever see any right hand drive cars, I have seen 5 or 6 right hand drive tuners/ricers in the past week or so. Are the kids converting left hand drive Japanese cars to right hand drive? Also does anyone know why they are doing this?

I believe Japanese home-market cars are RH drive. Maybe they're importing them, or maybe replicating some of the models not sold in the US? I know some of the more desirable (not to me, by the way) high-end Jap performance cars are not sold in the US. I could see the ricer kids trying to make theirs look like the unobtainable ones.....

DougD has it.

We see this a lot in Australia as we're RH drive also. They are called 'grey imports' here - meaning no offical local support. Not such a big deal in the age of the internet.

They are importing them. A friend of mine imported a older toyota land cruiser from Aus. that is rh drive with a diesel engine, couldn't get those here.

How do they register them without cats & bumpers??
