I told Pauline to just toss my dead arse into the sea, and then throw a barbecue for our friends. First lyin' bugger who starts moaning about what a great guy I was gets chucked into the drink as well.
PS - I want an invite to Jamo's send off. I'll be sorry to see the big guy go but hey - what a party!

Whatever your choice, keep the old quote in mind......
"Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting "...holy s$it...what a ride!"
I'm thinking that part of that is owning and driving a Cobra - FAST!

..and since it is NYC, there's a 50/50 chance you won't be picked up.

I just told my buddies to take the wallet from my back pocket and drop me off downtown (preferably stuffed in the air ducts at city hall, so I can annoy them for a change). That way I don't have to waste money on a funeral.;)

There are rules about what gets picked up.
If you just put a body at the curb on pickup day, they include you in the homeless count...and give you a hot meal.

Have planted about six of my mates outside the 100 fathom line east of here (Bermuda).
Commercial fisherman tell me the groupers in the area are big critters.
Hmmm!!--I wonder if they get a buzz off the embalming fluid. :confused:

Lol! Sounds like these groupers are pretty well fed. I've never seen the logic in getting all carried away embalming a stiff that's going to be thrown into the sea. Likely makes them taste like crap, but knowing groupers and some of the other critters that hang about down there, they probably choke it down anyway!:3DSMILE:

[quote=Jamo;I made a pact with a Turkish fellow ..../QUOTE]
Now THAT is interesting.

I want to be sent off in a Viking longboat to bagpipe and kazoo music (I'm a North European mutt) while everybody enjoys a big lobster clambake and sushi bar with all the fixins. I figure I've eaten enough of those sea-dwelling morsels that I should probably return the favour.
And the partiers have to finish off all the beer in the beer fridge. In fact - I better go get one now so I don't miss out cause it seems like everybody else is kicking the bucket.**)

Back to the topic. :p
Either side of this arguement can be taken to the extreme. The plug could be pulled far too early on someone that has a real chance to recover OR someone can be kept alive long after they should have been allowed to pass away. The problem is trying to figure out just where in between, is right. There is probably no easy answer as in many cases it is a personal or family decision. Certainly money should not enter into the decision unless it is a case of a family going broke trying to keep an old geezer alive.

On the other hand, the actual topic is that the government in America proposes to step in to make that decision by basically withdrawing services in favor of a painkiller - just allow the person to die as they will die anyway - the government - not the patient or the family.
