July deadliest month for Afghanistan

Imagine that.... it's pretty sad when I called it before the month even started! And when they say "At least 30..." That is very loose considering the actual number could be almost double that. And the worst part about it is... we aren't doing anything different because of it! Still living in the past with an, "it never happened before attitude!"

Well I did see a small piece in the local paper that they want 65,000 more troops I believe it was because the ones that have been going back are now so worn out and tired they aren't in shape for that mess, and the toll of dead and wounded is making it hard for our forces to do much. Not sure just how accurate that is considering this paper is just an extension of the Obama mantra. I wonder what would happen if someone put on one of his teleprompters that we were going to withdraw our forces from those two places.

 That would be a good one Ron! Wonder if her would react to it or if he would just keep reading. 65,000 more is likely necessary. HOWEVER, until some SERIOUS security/safety situations are resolved, casualties will continue on this path. If I could expose said issues here on this board anymore than I already have, you would certainly understand. Bases in the US are more secure than the ones here. What does that tell you?

Having spent my time in the crappy conditions of Korea, I know exactly what you mean. Over there security was very difficult and they did have the beginning of men and women out of uniform hiding AK-47s and then once the troops walked past picking them up and opening up on them. They finally barred all Koreans from any of the camps or bases as it was just to hard to tell who was who. Even the top ROK soldiers that were sent back for training were kept under close security and had no freedom to roam around. I know it is much worse over there as that has became the style of war since Korea and Vietnam really brought it to the front.

Take care and stay safe. I am sure they need more troops, but it is going to be hard to get them with all of the media lying and the seemingly endless dragging on and on of these wars.
