Pretty much the same in Louisiana, just good common sense and courtesy to tell a LEO there is a weapon in your vehicle.....

Once when stopped for speeding, the cop asked for DL,insurance, registration and if I had any weapons or drugs in my car??? told him there was a fully loaded, holstered 9mm under the drivers seat and 2 loaded clips in the console. He asked "why is it loaded?", told him pretty much the same reason HIS gun was loaded, he "oh,o-k".........end of story, no problems once I told him of the gun.

It is about the same up here. You can carry a concealed weapon in your motor home or vehicle without a permit. But if you get pulled over or are even talking to a LEO and you have your weapon on you, I always tell them first thing that I have a loaded gun and a permit. Never had a problem with any of them and a couple of them even thanked me for telling them that right off.

Hey Ron - if I was a CHiP and I pulled over a mean lookin' ol' dude in a red muscle car for speeding and he looked at me and said "I have a loaded gun." , I just might think he was threatening me and call in the SWAT team and Apache helicopters.:LOL:

Buzz,

I never speed on the highway, especially with that car. Every CHP and LEO that sees it really looks it over. I had one CHP office follow me 15 miles once and when I stopped to go into a store he pulled right in beside me. I waited to see what he wanted and he was very nice. He said he had seen one of the 69 Cobra hatch backs at a car show once but had never seen the fastbacks which us what they used in NASCAR and would I let him look it over. We must have spent 30 minutes talking and he was a car nut and had a couple of MOPARS. When I want to blow it out, I take it out on a long new straight road they just cut through a few years ago and run it up to around 6300 in 3rd gear. With the low gear ratio it has, I am not speeding.

Ron :D
