Beware of the Crusher!
This past weekend I attended a carshow in Williams ,AZ. Williams is located just a few miles west of Flagstaff, AZ and 40 miles east of Ashforth, AZ on Hwy. 40.
The carshow is called the "Cool Country Cruise-In" and has about 300 participants that show up for this fun week end in Williams near the entrance to the Grand Canyon. Now everything went great until the Mayor of Williams stated during the awards presentation that," you folks travelin back to Phoenix from Williams after the show might want to take an alternate route in lieu of Hwy.40 . The Mayor stated that he had heard that Obama's Cash for Clunkers boys, had set up Clunker Crushers on both sides of town..going east and west on Hwy. 40. Now you can imagine the roar from the crowd...crush my custom car...no way!. The Mayor said, " take Perkinville Road to avoid the Feds. and save your precious ride, Boys". The crowd was also very aware that Obama was in the state to visit the Grand Canyon on Sunday...I even heard one guy ask if there were any good ambush points along that route, I'm sure he was just joking and ment viewing points. I see the back window of the black suburban is open. Did they not appreciate you pointing a camera at the the limo? Were they pointing anything back at you?

Those SS guys are so friendly.

I'm sure the SS is doing a great job..as they should. As good Americans we can only point our camera's, record history and give them all the finger that tells them that they are number one.
I was more concerned about our hot rods being crushed as Clunker's.....old, no smog controls, noisy and 5 mpg and Redneck drivers. OH! FYI I found out that original Rednecks were folks down in Kentucky that were protesting the non-union coal mine owners in the early 1900's , they would put a red scarf around their necks to identify them as a group. No tee shirts and signs in those days..or town hall meetings. Happy Days Ahead, Bill |
