98.6 degrees
Since our body's normal temperature is 98.6 degrees you would think we would not feel hot and/or uncomfortable until the outside temperature was above our normal body temperature. We all know this is not true.
I am uncomfortable in the 80's.

Actually according to my doctor a persons normal body temperature can vary from that figure. Mine is always around 99.2. As for the rest I am hot when it is humid and in the 80s. But I like your idea. Why not ask for an appointment as Czar of Body Temperatures.

That is quite an interesting read and I guess there is a little Andy Rooney in me today.
We have had a mild heat wave this week so it kind of makes you think.

You also feel warmer because you are (probably) wearing clothes. Remove your clothes and 98 degrees, in the shade, does not feel as warm.

I run about 99.4F and am one of those blond Nordic New England types. I'm built for cold weather and will still be in shorts and short sleeve shirt down to about 40F. I don't like temps above 65F.
I was at the gym Monday and was doing my usual workout in the nice air conditioning. I walked out the door to the car and felt like I was hit by a sledgehammer. It was over 90F and just oppressive.
I want to be the Air-Conditioning Tsar. Or maybe Governor of Reykjavik - they are in such financial trouble that $200K would probably buy the whole country and then we could add it on to Maine. And I like hakari. Anybody want to donate?:cool:

Gee Guys! sounds to me like you all are having "hot flashes" like my wife. She says her thermostat is broke. We'll as I'm getting to be an old fart..it seems like my thermostat is brokes too.
We live in the desert and feel great in the heat up to 105 (dry heat). With wornout joints and artrictic conditions the heat is better than the cold. We keep the house at 79 degrees and feel cold and then go outside to feel better.....crazy !
I've lived in and round the desert all my life and accept the heat as part of the summers, but 9 months of perfect temps., few rain storms, and no snow...it seems to be worth it.

Bill that is the reason I do not stay for a long time in AZ.
I don't care how dry the heat is...it is HOT!
I'm with Jams, 80 is warm.

X2 what Tru said . I was in Phoenix doing some prototype work with a hydraulic system on a refuse truck near the landfill in August .... and it reached 117 that afternoon . I`m from the deep South with lots of humidity and thought , no problem ... it`s a dry heat ! Boy , was I wrong ! Boy , did the truck stink ... and it sure was fun watching the TSA guy when he opened my suitcase/dirty clothes bag and got a good whiff of my work clothes .

I lived in the Imperial Valley for several years. We used to drive over to Arizona to cool off.
I'm like Steve...running with the polar bears would be fine by me. Summer is a highly overrated concept.
