Yes, we really went there.

Wonder if we'll find someone's car keys when we go back...

That brings up a point, even though the Corvette was pretty much "status quo" among the astronauts, did any of them have a Cobra?

When I watch Apollo 13, first thing I picked up during the interior driving shots of Hanks was the tel-tale thump, thump, thump of the T-tops. Mine did the same thing.

The non-believers will just say it's Photoshopped, or otherwise changed.

They will never believe it.

Another layer added to the conspiracy.

no No NO, I can hear it now! The Eagle was sent up EMPTY, and crashed into the moon. And And And...Those are not footprints, but a debris trail PROVING we never went to the moon!!!! **) **) **)

Screw those idiots. Can't wait till the high resolution images come back. So freaking cool. The last time we ever saw Apollo 11 LM (Eagle) was in 1969. We get to see her live again! (sort of)

Mike,

I have been looking forward to that for a long time now. Space is one of my favorite things and I have wanted to see some of the stuff we left there for years to see if it is covered in dust or just like they left it.

Ron :)

Scott Carpenter was the original owner of CSX3230, which was delivered with "special paint," Royal Blue Metalflake.

I seem to remember that John Glenn had a Galaxie with a 427SOHC, too.

I have been wanting to see the pictures for the same reasons. I am really curious to see if they are covered in dust. That would mean that there are forces at work disturbing the dust. But since they point out foot prints, I would guess that the equipment is not, because the foot prints should be obscured if there was activity that stirred the dust up.

Ron61 08-21-2009 09:12 AM

Joe,

How about possible small meteorite strikes in places that just disturb the dust for a small area? I would like to see them put a rover there like they sent to Mars and run it right up to the old equipment left over and get really close up pictures.

Good point Ron, did not think of that.

I would like us to go back...and permanently colonize. The promises of manufacturing extra terrestrially have never been capitalized on. Not to mention that a lot of the deep space shots would be a whole lot easier when shooting from a near weightless environment. It will be so cool to see the hi-res pics though...:)
