Howdy Everybody,
Quote:
At age 14 I went to live with my dad and I live there until I was almost 16yo. The place he was working at went out of business and I had to move back in with my mom and stepdad. My stepdad thought that he would start up again where he left off we I moved out. Only problem was that when I cme back I was 6' tall and weighed 190lbs and had been boxing, lifting weighs and playing football for the last almost two years and was no longer afraid of him. First time he try to play Billy Badbutt with me I just laughed at him and told him that he had better go sit down and shut the "f" up before he got hurt. He looked at me for a second and went over to his chair and sat down. That was in May 1980 and to this day he has not said a harsh word to me or any of my siblings. I never knew what a coward he was until I stood up to him. Yeah, it takes a real man to bet a little kid. Oh, what did I do? When the woman draw her hand back I told her something like "Do it again and I'll beat the "f" out of you!" The man/husband/dad/whatever was on the other side of her and he came around her I told him "And I'll beat the "f" out of you too!" The man backed down and I told them thaat I was going to call DCFS and that I had their phone number on speed dial, which I do because my wife works there, well actaully DHS, but DCFS is part of DHS. As I was calling on the phone, they begged me not to and they grabbed the kids and slip out the door. Paul |

Good resolution. :)

Keep your eyes open I'm sure you will see them again. If you were 6 foot tall and 190 lbs. at 16 you must be one big dude now no wonder they ran.
|
Howdy rustyBob,
I'm fair size, 6' 1 1/2" about 245lbs in the pic. http://images.yuku.com/image/pjpeg/4...7d21f5c812.jpg I would have made good on my threat and would have just faced my day in court. I figure the Judge would have gone easy on me. Paul |
Well, I made a promise to myself a long time ago and that is, "never again will I let something bad or stupid go unchallenged". With that being said you have to pick the appropriate best possible solution to a situation.
One that always works for me is, (1) Stop the violence immediately (2) Tell the offending individuals that he or she will go to jail for what they are doing (3) Also tell them that you will own their house if they threaten to kick your a** (4) Call the Authorities (5) Follow through Most of the time this method has worked for me..so far I haven't got my butt kick and but I'm old now...maybe they think I know something. Bill...ps. boy are they wrong! |
Paul that is great that you stood up for that child.
Your own story brings back a memory. A friend of mine was stealing apples off of a tree when he was 12 or 13. The owner of the tree caught him and kicked the tar out of him while a simple boot in the rear end would have been sufficient. When Bill was 16 or 17 he knocked on the door and introduced himself to that bully. He invited him out side and promply layed a licking on him. Wayne |
I would go kick my old man's rear but he's 80 years old now and elderly abuse is not something i want to go to jail for so its just better i stay away from him and my 2 sisters can't figure why i havent talked to him for 10 years now, i tried to explain it to them but they think im crazy they say it never happened but i was the one with the bruises and knots on my head for most of my childhood.Probably the best revenge is that the family name stops with me and theres nothing he can do about that........
