Got an idea
How about Ron (computerworks) sets up a screening algorithm that looks for "hot" key words in addtion to cuss words. Any user who gets caught using more than say 10 in a day automatically gets banned for a day.
Yeah, I know, if folks figure out what the hot key words are and get around the "filter", then auto ban them for a month. This should keep things calmer around here. Just apply it here for experimentation and tuning. Its just an idea, but if you look at the closed threads, there is a pattern. This could really work. Mike |
Thanks for positive thinking.
We already have that, in a sense.... Mods catch the threads early on that look like they can head down the wrong path. Automating it would take the judgment out of things...many times, we take a hands-off approach, and the thread sets itself right again. We are working on a new feature, though, that would issue "tickets," if you will, for minor violations of the site's Terms; e.g., personally attacking or name-calling another member, etc. The violations are issued thru the click of a mod button and the violator gets notified. Points accumulate (just like DMV points) and ban-periods are automatically issued when the points reach preset levels. I think it will work well and will probably be in place within a few weeks. |
Nice! That'll work.
|
Would this work on PM's also? :D
|
Hope not, I keep my F bomb arsenal fully stocked and ready for PM deployment when required,,, Mr. Toad. :)
With the new ticket plan, maybe I will be able to neutralize the war heads. |
can we buy and sell credits? heheheh could make for interesting discussions, kind of an Al Gore store if you will..................
|
:) :) Nice tweak to the concept there FWB.

Sort of like the guy I know who was sentenced to 80 hours community service. He hired some teenager to paint the local fire hall for him.

It didn't. He caught caught after only a few days and had to finish the work himself. What can I say, he's a Porche nut.

What say the mods? Mike |
Hey Mike, you wanna make it personal AGAIN???? Not kidding, you wanna do the email this time? You wanna do the phone call thing? Tell you what sucker, LEAVE ME THE HELL ALONE with your phucking personal attacks or we WILL have something to talk aobut, AGAIN. I will not lay down and roll over when some one attacks me, personally. Expect a fight.
Don't start something you can't finish and then run and hide behind your momma's dress. |
Everyone...shhhhhh.
|
Please you guys, show a little civility and start acting like intelligent adults. There are plenty of good descriptive words in the dictionary to use to get your points across. In appropriate four letter words and the use of the words from the Urban Dictionary are sometimes fun, but not here on the CC.
Peace my Brothers, Bill |
:D
Bill, Maybe we need a Reality fight Room where they can use the game type fighters to settle their differences and the loser gets a week off. Ron   |

You rascal FWB, that was funny. :)
|

I have to agree, that was funny. We need more of that on here. Ron :) |
Ernie, you really need to calm down. I was just pointing out that sending F-Bomb emails are no better than doing it in public. I am hiding no where.
Mike |
What part of "shhhh....." do you not get?
