We've definitely got a bunch of us interested in doing this, but what are the specifics regarding your roll-bar policy and Cobras? Is a single hoop behind the driver sufficient? |
Great question Russ. The only thing on their web site is a roll bar requirement (and clearance between the top of the helmet and roll bar).
Count me in on the interested group. |
Typically the "broom stick" rule applies. They lay a broom stick on the windshield frame and the roll bar. Your helmet must be under that. On another note, $245 for one day seems a little high to me. I think Hallet is $125 per day for 3 days in June during the Shelby event and Run and Gun was $350 for early registration for 3 days.

Several groups that run over at Heartland Park have begun requiring dual roll bar hoops (at the very minimum) for Cobra replicas, even when it's just a Performance Driving Event.
This one is a bit pricey by comparison (the PDE's are usually $275 for the weekend if you pre-register), but hey, the others won't even let me run, so I guess if I gotta pay a little more... |

The "broom stick" rule does apply at MVP Track Time events. If your roll bar passes that test, you are OK to run with us at any of our events. We'd love to have the Cobra's with us. As for the cost, Autobahn is nearly twice the price for the full 3.56 mile road course as the other tracks you mentioned and the full course can only be rented on certain Mondays. Supply and demand. Our June 4, 2007 at Autobahn in already 1/2 full and will likely be full before mid-late January. Happy Motoring! Mark "Feff" Pfeffer |
Hello Cobra Fans:
Just a quick pdate to let you know registration for all three 2007 MVP Track Time track days is open including: Autobahn Country Club (Near Chicago/Entire 3.56 mile track) - June 4, 2007 [b][Autobahn is fullB] Putnam Park (Near Indianapolis) - July 23, 2007 Autobahn Country Club (3.56 Mile Road Course) - August 20, 2007 - JUST ANNOUNCED! Hearltand Park (Topeka, KS) - September 17, 2007 For more details and/or registration visit www.MVPTrackTime.com. Happy Motoring! Mark "Feff" Pfeffer |
Registered yesterday so I will be there Mark (although I will be driving the Noble not the Cobra). This sounds like a great event. There have not been many events open to non-members that have used the full track so this should be fun. Let's give mark a pass on the price because with the full track it should cost a bit more.

I'm looking forward to a ride. Drove a Noble at Putnam Park, compliments of 1G Racing, a couple years back. I imagine it will shine brighter on a big track like Autobhan where it can stretch its legs a bit. We are down to just a few spots left for our June 4th Autobahn track day. For details or registration (on line) visit www.MVPTrackTime.com. Happy Motoring! Mark "Feff" Pfeffer |

Hi All:
A quick note to let you know we have a few spots open for July 23rd at Putnam Park and a few less spots open for Autobahn Country Club (full track) August 20th. E-mail me for the registration or you can register on line at: http://www.MVPTrackTime.com/id47.html At the request of a number of drivers, we are now making lunch available for your guests. So if the spouse, kids or friends are coming to the track with you, they too can enjoy a nice catered lunch. Your lunch, as an MVP Track Time driver, is of course included with registration. We have some photos on the MVP web site from June 4th at Autobahn (the wettest day in my driving history) and a thorough explanation of helmet ratings compliments of Simpson racing. Remember SA2000 or newer helmets! July 23rd will be here before we know it. I hope to see all of you at the track. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at (314) 249-3770 or e-mail Feffman@MVPTrackTime.com. Happy Motoring! Mark Pfeffer - MVP Track Time (314) 249-3770 Feffman@MVPTrackTime.com |
