MINE IS A SOLID BLACK. IT DOES HAVE SOME IRREGULAR, BROWN, HORIZONTAL STRIPES ON THE RIGHT SIDE. (IS THAT STARBOARD OR PORT?? OR MERLOT OR BERGUNDY?) ACTUALLY IT'S TOBACCO JUICE STAINS. MY EX-WIFE WAS RIDING WITH ME THE OTHER DAY. USUALLY SHE TRIES TO HIT THE STREET SIGNS & PARKING METERS BUT SHE DRIBBLES A LOT THESE DAYS. SORRY ABOUT THE DUMB RESPONSE, BUT I CAN'T HELP YOU WITH THE STRIPES AND DIDN'T WANT YOU TO FEEL LONELY UNTIL SOME ONE WITH BETTER SENSE OR LESS TO DRINK FOR LUNCH ANSWERED YOU. I don't know what your version of horizontal is, but if that means fender stripes here you are. This is how I'm planning on painting my car. I don't plan on using that color of purple but it will end up looking very close to the one in this picture. This is from a photographer named Ron Kimball. I don't know who's car it is, but it has a nice stance, etc. It's one of my favorite Cobra pictures.

The Ron Kimball picture you've posted in your photo gallery looks to me to be the Contemporary Cobra owned by Lewis Downs in the mid 90s. You have great taste as this to me is one of the most stunningly beautiful replica Cobras I've ever seen and was my motivation for painting my own car black. Downs' car was photographed and written up in one of the few issues of the short lived Cobras magazine (also mid 90s). Downs enthusiastically raced the car at numerous events and the car was as fast as it was beautiful. I can scan the article and e-mail it to you if you'd like to see it. Mike :MECOOL: |
