Thumbs up 1st Club Meeting

I have about 15 names on the list so do you guys want to plan a first meeting after the holidays? It looks like somewhere in the cities will be a good central location. Or for the first one we could meet at my shop in Sauk Centre if everyone wanted to drive the extra distance. Otherwise we will have to find a location. It would be fun for everyone to bring pictures of their cars or projects for all of us to see. Give me some input so I know how to proceed. Lots of planning to do for next summer.

I think it would be fun to meet at your shop Don. For those of you who haven't had the opportunity to visit Don's shop, you would really enjoy it.......always cool Cobra stuff going on!

I'm not opposed to meeting at Don's shop, although weather will play a big role. No matter where the meeting is it's going to be a long drive for some, I'll have a 3+ hr drive and I know I'm not the furthest away. It would be best to move the meetings around, give everybody a chance at a convenient drive. Once summer is here and the Cobra is on the road the longer drives will be more like an outing.

Once the first meeting is done we should think about an emailed briefing to those that were unable to attend. It would be much faster than a snail mailed newsletter and photos could be easily attached.

I look forward to see you all there. I'm kinda having withdrawl symtoms now that the Cobra is put up for the winter.

I now have 20 names on the potential members list. Since I'm not getting much of a response on the first meeting place I will plan it for sometime in Jan. at my shop. I can do either a Saturday or Sunday afternoon which should give enough time for everyone to drive here. Give me some feedback so I know how to proceed. Otherwise I'll pick a day and time. I'm also thinking about a summer Cobra bash at my shop sometime in July. I heard the greatest band last weekend and I'm trying to book them now. Should be a great party with a live band, BBQ, beer, and of course Cobra's! We do have a few campgrounds and several hotels in town for those that might want to spend the night. I also have quite a large area next to my shop for all the cars and things. I know several of the guys are very excited about this club and want to get started so let's start moving

Don,

Any weekend in January is fine with me, and I haven't been in your shop for a few months, so having the meeting there is a great idea. BTW, where did that blown Cobra with 16" wheels end up?

dkjos, It went out east. Really nice guy bought it and was having a ball with it until the power and a corner got the best of him. It's been in the body shop for about a month getting repaired.

Thumbs up First meeting

I travel frequently at the last moment, but I'll do my best to make a meeting(s). Especially interested in summer activities, possibly at a track somewhere? Keep me posted.
Also looking for a set of Trigo's with the adaptors. Any leads?

spur17, I have the 1st meeting planned for Jan 19th or 20th. I'm waiting for some replies to see which date works the best for everyone. Sorry, I can't help with used Trigo's. Keep an eye on the parts for sale section, a set just sold there.

Unhappy 1st Meeting

Don:

I'd like to make your first meeting but it looks like the family has some type of soccer tournament that weekend inside a dome in Duluth. Keep me posted of upcoming ones ok?

To everyone: I guess I will plan the 1st meeting for Jan. 19th. If everyone could be here by 1:00 pm I think that will give people enough time for the long drive. Here are the directions:

From the south: I-94 west to exit 127 (Sauk Centre). Take a right at the top of the ramp (main street). Follow to the 2nd stoplight (Sinclair Lewis Ave). Take a right at the light. Follow out of town (1/2 mile) to cemetery. Take a right at cemetery (Co Rd 185). I'm the 2nd house on the left. Tan house with a big front porch. Follow driveway to the right which will lead you back to my shop.

From the north: I-94 east to exit 127 (Sauk Centre). Take a left at the top of the ramp. Follow above directions from there.

Bring pictures of your car for everyone to drool over!

Is anybody interested in this meeting? I've heard from 2 people so far. If the time or place doesn't work then lets change it.

I just joined the forum. I'm planning on building a cobra in the next couple years (when the economy picks back up and the wife gives the go-ahead).

My Christmas presents were:
BFGoodrich banner of ERA Cobra Replica
cobra badges for front and rear
solid rear end with 3.27 gears and limited slip
Bitten by the Snake video
Gumball Rally video
(so you can see, I've been 'bitten')

I would like to come to the meeting on the 19th, but I would be late. I wouldn't be able to leave until 1pm, and yahoo estimates it will take me 2 hours to get there.
I would love to see your shop.

Will the meeting be long enough that I should show up at 3 or should I not bother?

Mike Davis

Mike, I'm sure there will still be people here. I'll be here for sure so please plan on attending.
Don

PS. My daughter lives in Coon Rapids and it only takes me about 1 1/2 hours to get here if the traffic is ok.

Cool

Don,

The 19th at 1:00 is OK with me. I am flexible though if you decide to change the date or time. I should be there as long as the weather is reasonable. Any estimate as to the drive time from Eden Prairie? I am new to MN and am not sure as to what to expect as far as driving times in January. Look forward to seeing everyone.
