powder coating
Ok, I'm not happy with the finish on some parts I had coated for my boat. The outfit involved is more geared to industrial finishing. I live in Alexandria, which is about 1 hour past St. Cloud on 94 heading west. Any ideas on wherer to go?

Powder Coaters
In response to your looking for a good powder coater, there are many that we refer our customers to use. Powder Coating Technologies in Maple Grove, Spectrum Coatings in Litchfield and Extreme Powder Coating in Blooming Prairie. We build and repair race cars and these are vendors that do very good work and usually for a reasonable price.

Have you considered Imiron paint?
It's virtually chip and rust proof, highly abrasion resistant, and much less expensive than powder coating. In addition, you can likely find a local painter to spray it for you. It's highly toxic while being sprayed, so don't try it yourself.
You can see what it looks like on the red Imiron painted frame in my photo gallery. Powder coat gets chips and it seems that there are few that do it well, from what I hear. |
My Husband and I are in the process of purchasing a powder coating business in Little Falls, MN. One of the areas that we plan to focus on is parts for cars. We are also looking into enamel and other finishes. Our closing date is July 31st. Also, the staff at the existing shop is very well versed in the way of the car.
