C.S. Limited Edition 427 S/C Cobra Value?
I have a Carroll Shelby Limited Edition 1965 Shelby Cobra 427 S/C Hot Wheels, number 14014, still in it's original box from 1995. Silver # 98 with Red Rider (real black rubber) wheels. It's one of 500 Hot Wheels made specifically for The Shelby Heart Fund, which I purchased for $50.00 at the SAAC National Convention in 1995.
Does anyone know the value of this Hot Wheels Cobra in today's market? Thanks for your help. |
This one?
http://www.southtexasdiecast.com/hwg...teds/14014.jpg it is listed on the guide but doesn't have a price. As with all hotwheels and all Cobras... it's worth whatever someone will give you for it. You trying to sell it? The car is listed about 1/4 way down the guide, #14014 http://www.southtexasdiecast.com/hwg...ssiccobra.html If you have other hotwheels, click the top "return to guide" section. There is likely not a price listed for your cobra because they likely haven't seen one sell. i'd bet of the 500 sold, 99% were to collectors who won't ever sell them. "The purpose of this price guide is to give collectors an online resource for collecting Hot Wheels. Values are based on the average selling price on eBay, TTP (The Toy Peddler), Yahoo! auctions, and local shows." BTW, if you do want to sell it, let me know. I would be interested! It would make a great addition to my collection! :) |
Here's one for sale in Australia for $33.00 US.

Looks like $33.00 is the going rate. Gee, maybe Hot Wheels cars took a dive along with the "real" Shelby Cobra market!
I'm not interested in selling under $50., so I guess I'll have to wait until the market goes up. Whenever that is! Thank you, guys, for your response. |
Guess again?
Well, after a few completed web site auctions, the prices seem to go from $5. to $15. for these Hot Wheels Cobras. Does anyone know how many of these were made? Someone told me as many as 10,000 which is hard to believe. Would the Shelby Foundation have the figures? The reality check for me is interesting, since I bought two of these back in 1995.

I have this exact car (1965 Shelby Cobra 427 S/C Limited Edition #14014) and would like to sell it. I have looked on The Franklin Mint website and it says that it is worth about $150. Of course that is not what I can get for it, but a decent price would be nice.
If you are interested please let me know. Thanks, Joeygirl732011 Brea, California USA |
