The goal of the drive is to get as many local owners involved as possible, drive for around 3.5 hours, all finish where we start, get some amazing fall scenery, some stretches to wring them out, nice bridges to cross, and hopefully some owners from neighboring states to join us.

DELAYED START APPROX. NOON 12PM FROM:

Vintage Motorsports - 121 North Plains Industrial Road - Wallingford, CT 06492

PLEASE ARRIVE WITH A FULL TANK OF FUEL

The drive will conclude at the same location at approx. 3:00pm depending on traffic, stops, etc.

Here is the drive route: GOOGLE MAPS ROUTE

We're in for Sunday. You might want to re-look at that left turn in New Haven from Amity Rd. to Whalley Ave. That 300 degree turn has a stoplight that will only let three or four cars go at one time. If you turn left at Lucy St. (about 1/4 mile back) and right at Litchfield Tpk. (RT. 69-Whalley Ave), you have a cleaner shot at the left on Pod Lilly to Rt. 15. Just a thought, I lived down there for years.

Done. We made the same last minute change on the Spring drive...

If a couple of you want to run the route backwards tomorrow starting around noon, let me know. I feel like a drive and it will be 70 degrees.

ZOERA-SC7XX 10-21-2009 08:00 PM

Can't take the time off...wish I could.

The route is MONEY... hope for weather. Thanks for a great drive today, only 1 triple bypass.

UKjohnnycobra 10-22-2009 04:55 PM

I would love to join you, especially as the route goes right past my house in Woodbridge. I will try and make it, and will confirm beforehand

BTW you might want to think about avoiding the great hill road section between rt 34 and Rt 67 in Seymour Last time I was there it had many deep potholes that were absolutely impossible to avoid and the road is generally in very bad condition. UNless its been repaired within the last three months I certainly would not take my cobra on it.

You could take governors hill road and then rt42 through beacons falls which is a nice drive and then rt 63 south. Thats a regular circuit of mine.

Dave McKee 10-22-2009 06:02 PM

Unless things take a bad turn in the mean time I'm for 2 also.

Carl Johnson 10-22-2009 06:26 PM

If the weather is good, I'm in. (not sure if it is 1 or 2)

All roads checked out good today. We ran the whole loop in the opposite direction. But it is just the right route for a nice group drive.

Bob In Ct 10-22-2009 06:45 PM

I don't get it. I can't get 2 guys to go for a 40 mile ride on a Saturday or Sunday, you can get 5 cars to show up for a 200 mile ride on a Thursday. Is there a message here?

Bob

We passed a white Cobra with a big block going the other way in New Milford. Anyone?

Cashburn 10-23-2009 03:51 PM

60 Degrees and Sunny for Sunday. It will be brisk in the morning. Pickup some Under Armor gloves and hats. If you really want warmth go for the skins too.
