Lime Rock Park & SAACNE: 9/4 to 9/6

News Release from Lime Rock Park:

" ALSO, we wanted to make sure you knew that the Shelby American Automobile Club (New England) is making another wonderful appearance at the Sunday in the Park Car Show (Sept. 5). SAACNE will bring dozens of terrific Cobras, Tigers, Griffiths, Mustangs and high performance Fords, and they always put on a good show when they come to Lime Rock. "

Veterans get into the track for free every day.

SAAC will, however, charge you to get into the show on Sunday. You get a discount on track admission if you are a AAA member. You get a bigger discount if you go to AAA in advance and buy your tickets.

If there is no chance of rain (and a tree doesn't fall on my house on Friday) the wife and I will be there. The show is decent but the drive up 254 and 63 in the morning is terrific. No traffic, no lights, no stop signs and lots of newly paved road! The bridge on Route 7 is another matter, will the state DOT ever be done working on it?

Believe the AAA offices have a limited number of tickets, and then sold out. At least that is what I have experienced at the Enfield office.

I will be there at the car show with my GT40. Tornado will be there with a 40 also.

Show your AAA card at the gate and get $5.00 off admission each day.

Remember, SAAC will also charge you once you're on the track.

If anyone wants to caravan up Route 8, 254 and 63 I'll be going past the commuter parking lot on Route 34 about 9:00 and the Duncan Donuts in Thomaston about 9:30.

Dry weather, smooth open road and an AC under me - Life is Good!

Bob
