Anyone headed out to Carlise
Just wondering if anyone is headed out to Carlisle for the kit car show in mid May. My wife and I are taking the beast there and then headed down to Raleigh for a few days to run some back mountain roads. Just got in from a 2 hr. cruise and God I Love It!!!

We will have our display... Carlisle is the show you have to be at but don't want to be. Props if you drive your Cobra out. There is usually 5 or 6 in the show field, surrounded by 45 Meyers Manx.

I may go.
Jay, why do you say that. Just curious. Is it not worth going?

It will rain every day and be cold every other day. There's just not much there to see or do if you already have a car honestly. If you are shopping or doing research you can see a lot of manufacturers in one shed ... but they really have done nothing to grow or improve the show for people to display their cars etc.
Sorry if I'm busting anyone's bubble ... every year we say it's going to die and there's no way it can keep going and yet we all send in our spot reservations for next year.
Best thing going is to buy your Kit Car Builder subscription.

Jay, I'm trailering the car and it will be sitting inside at the ERA spot. Peter asked me to join them for the show. CRASH.. yes Raleigh, NC, but funny enough actually Cary. My wife's side of the family is mostly down there. We'll be spending most of the week there.

Wasn't trying to be nosey. It's just when you said "headed down to Raleigh to run some back mountain roads", I thought, we sure got 'em, but they're four hours west of here, but I guess you already know that.
The weather here is SPECTACULAR right now! Enjoy your trip. :D

Not a problem crASH, always glad to share, and if I can teach the wife to drive the truck with the trailer I could have a great ride down there. Wife's brother and family moved to the yankee containment area a long time ago. A nephews 7th birthday ands a ride in the shiny black cobra is his birthday present. He's never met me, but suddenly I'm his favorite Uncle.

Ah! So you know the secret code for what C.A.R.Y. stands for! Too funny. My wife was born here when it was 5,000 souls. I moved here and married her 21 years ago when it was pop. 45,000 and now it is 145,000 driving maniacs from all over the planet who came here for jobs in the Research Triangle Park and Raleigh.
If you get bored while you're here, shoot me a message to ash at centurysearch dot com and I'll point out a few scenic routes that won't take you too far out from Cary for an hour's drive or so.
Ash

We have always wanted to go but have never made it to the kit car show. We are finally going to make it the beginning of June for the Ford Nationals as our GT500 KR was chosen for the Hall of Kings display. Hoping the weather is better then than what I have heard it is for the kit car show.

Jay is quite right on that feeling. And yes, we will be there representing Superformance. Carlilse, be it Kit or Ford or Spring or any other version is a best a love/hate deal for a vendor. A lot of hassle to drag your stuff, long hours of standing, iffy weather at any event BUT meeting just ONE real customer and placing faces with names makes the effort worth it.
When I had my parts and restoration business I HATED attending as I always got the people who "wanted a deal"...let's see, now that I have dragged this stuff 300 miles, paid for space, food and hotel, stood in the rain, set up and broke down a couple of times, now that I've done that, you want to buy it CHEAPER?!?!?!
