Acton Custom Open House 7/10/11
Hey guys even NH weather couldn't keep a variety of neat cars and people showing up at last years open house, let's do it again. Open house at Acton Custom 9 a.m. - 12 noon Sun July 10th. 33 Wildwood Drive, Holderness NH. We have some interesting projects in the shop as always and it's a good gathering of everyone from original owners to hot rod and custom guys. All kinds of neat machinery with the majority being Cobras of course. We'll put on a few breakfast goodies for ya. One of the FFR guys has a good little afternoon cruise of the North Country mapped out from here, maybe a stop in at Panel Craft. We'd love to see you and thank you as always for your continued support.:D

Acton Custom Open House
Hello, thanks for invite but I am a bit too far away. For any CC members that are needing parts or pieces, or even looking for a complete car you should stop by Nick's place and take a look and talk over your plans with Nick. Nick is a Cobra parts perfectionist, I purchased several parts for my scratch built Cobra and I purchased parts for my dad's original 289 CSX2498, and Nick fabricated most of the exhaust system on the 289. If you stop by Nick's it will not be wasted time. Here is a foto of my car that has a list of parts from Acton Custom. regards, Karl

We are in! We will see you there without a collector car.... :(

Thanks guys, Karl and Jeff are quite the car builders themselves. I really enjoy their individual flavor of Cobras and working with them. Jeff maybe we should park ours next to each other for the first of many times? Karl, a ticket is cheap if you don't want to drive. You know you'd be welcome here.

Take pics of the event!!!

After seeing the part Nick made for Bill (2fast4u) and living relatively close by I wanted to visit his shop. Nick and I had also been communicating with each other here about the construction of the original glove boxes.
So a couple of weeks ago on the way to the FFR Open House I stopped by Nicks shop. What a great visit. Nick had three customers Cobra replicas he was working on, two scratch builds of his own and a CSX4000 series car he was rebuilding. Both Nick and his wife Bonnie took their time showing me the shop and the things they were doing. Turns out Bonnie works on the shops metalworking machines almost as much as Nick does. I thought that was cool. What a great team. Turns out this team can make any original or replica Cobra part you may need, such as Bill's gas fill shield for his FIA build. We also talked at length about the original glove boxes. Nick was very sharing of the research he had done in regards to the glove boxes. In all, Nick and Bonnie made my day and more. Their shop is a recommended visit if you can make it. George |
Greetings Nick:
Sounds like a fantastic opportunity but unfortunately won't be on the same continent. X2 (or 3) on all the well-deserved accolades to both Nick and Bonnie. I feel so fortunate to have my CCX3057 in Nick's shop at present for some much needed upgrades, definitely in good hands. I hope to make it one of these years.....hope it goes well. Cheers, Kirk |
Even via long distance, Nick has been a great Cobra friend and a pleasure with which to do business. I wish I could be there to drink your wine and burn rubber upon your landing Sir Nick, but alas it is not to be. For those of you who can partake, enjoy, Nick is a great asset to our hobby/affliction.

Cobra engineer, artist, doctor - Nick is the best! (so is Bonni). They've fed my addiction for several years across two Cobras - a CC and a CSX - and I keep coming back for more.
See you for breakfast! Ron |
Thanks to all who took advantage of the glorious weather to attend our second annual open house. What a great crew of local and some further afield car people. We made a real official appearance this year in conjunction with SAN as part of the Collector Car Appreciation Day events going on all over the country. Sign up with them, get informed and help keep our hobby alive and not legislated out of existence.
Thanks also to local merchants who advertise and support our business, NAPA, Fastenal and several others. Enough ramble, pics of some attending buggies.
