UPDATE 10/11/2011
Will mentioned he was going to a benefit after the drive for Brendan Marrocco. Brendan lost all four of his limbs while deployed in Iraq in 2009. They are having a benefit dinner for him in Spring Lake, NJ the evening of the drive and Will is going to take our thoughts with him.
On the drive we will "pass the hat" and hope to send whatever we can to help.

Ps. Don't put your cars away after this run. I have a tenative date for the 3rd annual gillette castle mohegann sun rally run: November 12 with a rain date of 19 th.
Info to follow after this week end. We usually start early so we can be at Mohegan Sun for lunch time at around noon to 1:00pm.

At the top of the page in the first post the google link changed to a different map, the times shifted a little, and we are meeting at Ft. Montogomery instead of Bear Mountain Inn... |

Stratos, you probably want to just head to Danbury or the Fort Montgomery meet spot. Have not had much response from owners further west of you.
If anyone is looking to prioritize part of the drive they can take part in the run from Danbury, CT to Newburgh, NY (Checkpoint B - C - D) will be the best portion of the run from a road/scenery standpoint. |

Going to make a call on this tomorrow by 5pm. There are a couple different forecasts and the 20%chance of rain is relatively low. I am more concerned about it raining all Friday or Friday night and high winds etc... |

Just checked the forcast. Showing a low 20-30% chance down your way until about 6 am. 30% chance until about 8 am my way. Looks like by the time we leave your place the rain will be gone for the day but it may take an extra hour or so to have the roads dry up. How would you and everyone else feel about pushing the start time back by an hour or two to avoid the wet roads?

Ladies and genltmen see below. this link is current as of this writing for central CT. Looks overcast and windy, but 0% precipitation from 7am to 3pm after 3 it increases to 10%

Here is the current dilemna... based on the 3 different forecasts I am looking at for 3 points of the drive (North Haven, CT / Danbury, CT / Newburgh, NY) the consensus is that we have a chance of rain (10 - 30% depending on the site) in the morning and then around 1pm the region jumps to nearly 40% chance in NY.
If we change to Sunday we will gain some people but lose some others... Sunday 0% chance of rain.

weekend weather
Either day is good for me, so I'd lean in favor of the 0% option. It was clearing up here in Tolland a little bit ago, but then the stinking rain made a return. No telling what overnight will bring.
