Long Island Cobra Club under Bobby's hard work and planning are having their Columbus Circle meet this Sunday October 2nd at 7am-9am. This is one of our favorite events each year. We all get up super early for this and bundle up and complain a lot ... but when we get there the 2 hours flies by and we have an amazing time.

It's a lot of fun to take the cars into a different element in the city. Our route is carefully planned and we generally do not encounter any absurd road conditions. Our route takes us through atleast 1 toll, so if you have EZ Pass bring it along or plan to pay a few dollars in tolls.

Here is the drive route: Milford, CT to Columbus Circle, New York, NY - Google Maps

The Google Map starts in Milford, CT where I am departing from. We will have a number of check points along the Merritt Parkway. We will not stop very long (15 minutes or less) at these locations so if you want to join us at any of the 2 stops then get there early.

CHECKPOINT B: 5:30AM MERRITT REST AREA BETWEEN EXIT 46 AND 45
CHECKPOINT C: 6:00AM MERRITT REST AREA BETWEEN EXIT 28 AND 27

After the meet in Columbus Circle we are going to drive back to Orange, CT for the Pyramid Shriners Car Show. It is a big event and fun to unwind after the morning sprint. Info here: http://www.pyramidshrinerscarclub.com/

This is a fine time. My hat is off to those at the LI cobra club for their efforts. If you havnt seen my video of last year, I dedicate it to the LI cobra club and all who attended the ride.

Columbus Circle Run

Roads are dry here and the radar shows things are open there and back for the duration. Going to get ready and check it one last time before turning the key and pissing off the neighborhood.

UPDATE: Some heavy rains and what is reported as severe weather is moving from south to north west cutting right between us and NYC, looks to be wide enough that we will not miss the weather. Going to have to miss it this year. Sorry guys.

We a drizzle up to the last 5 minutes, I'm going to say we are a go and hope that's the end of the rain.

Hope it worked out for you guys. We got a lot of rain early and now all sun. But would not have made it with the volume of rain before sunrise.
