Connecticut Guys Only
The State of Connecticut has a law that allows it to grab any monies that sit dormant for 3 years or longer. It's called "escheat". This means if you have a bank account or whatever with no transactions for 3 years the S. of C. can take it. Last month I recovered $34,000 for an elderly aunt and $2,000 for a buddy. The official Connecticut site to find this "escheated" money is shown below.
The link is Office of Connecticut State Treasurer Denise L. Nappier . Put in your last name and see what happens.

In my world, having money that I don't touch for three years is like having a bottle of wine that I haven"t finished after three days. Doesn't happen.

Isn't Nappier the state employed character (comptroller or something) who had registration and plates for the wrong state-owned car on her car, was stopped and ticketed by police for it, and claimed she was racially profiled? Cops got slapped for doing their job, but she can rob innocent people of their bank accounts. Kind of a Ct. type of double standard thing going on here.

" In accordance with state law, the assets are transferred to the Treasurer by entities such as banks, insurance companies, stock transfer agents, utilities, hospitals, retail, manufacturing and service companies following a loss of contact with the owners of record. Specific forms and instructions are provided by the Unclaimed Property Division each year for businesses to file unclaimed property. Such assets must be reported and remitted within 90 days following the close of each calendar year. These assets are held in the custody of the Treasurer until claimants come forward or are located."

Looking for a mechanic in SW CT
I just got a used (2002) Superformance MKIII with a 351. Does anyone know of a good mechanic that has experience with racing engines and basic mechanical work in Southwestern CT? I'm in the Norwalk area and closer is good but I'd be willing to drive to the right guy. Thanks.

Best engine guy is Joe at Danbury Competition Engine in Danbury. He's built one engine for me and another on the way and he knows his stuff. He's a little bossy, but feed into it and ask what HE wants to do and it will work out well for you. Enjoy your ride.

Sorry Bob. Maybe he's using found money to buy the cobra? I did find my Dad had a very small amount of money coming to him. It wasn't worth all the paperwork I had to do, he's deceased, but it cleans things up.
