The Registration says: Make: ERA, Year: 65, with a "CTXXXXX" VIN

I may do that, weather dependent.

I registered it in Wethersfield last year, went thru the full inspection - which was pretty straight-forward. Car number starts with CT. Do you know if any of your customers have their cars assessed at $500? If so, it would help my case to know which Towns their live in.

Albie,
My Backdraft is assessed at the $500 level in New Hartford :D. But the reason it is assessed at $500 has nothing to do with the town, It is the fact that I have the Early American registration and plates. If you have standard CT plates then they go on state/DMV value of the vehicle regardless of type.
If they offered you the EA plates without the "Composite" vehicle make, then take them up on it and save yourself the aggravation. The only thing to note here is that for several years they have tried to get the value of EA registered vehicles raised from $500 to $2500, but this is still far better than $20,000. :JEKYLHYDE

Perfect! That's just what I need. Are there any other CT registered replicas out there assessed at $500?

Just remember, the $500 assessment is not for the vehicle, but the registration type. If you have standard plates and not the EA black and white plates it will be based on the car and will be higher.

I know this is an older thread. Got my tax bill today
my 2005 composite cobra has a "value" of $10,000 and tax bill of $306.90
total tax bill for the wife and I here in Cheshire for vehicles $1424.63
Wife's '66 mustang was valued at $500 with a $15.35 tax bill though
Last year I put about 700 miles on the cobra... That's $.44 a mile I gave the town

Add insurance and it's probably a buck a mile. Add gas and it almost certainly is.
