What to use for bumbers in MA.?
Hey all, newbie questions,
Just doing some research...and was wondering, for state safety inspection in MA., what were you able to use as bumpers @ inspection, what does the state allow? Were quick jacks accepted, or, would you need overriders...or nudge bar? Also, re: quick jacks/jack pads, can anyone recommend where to buy them from for a good price? I saw jack pads for sale on Finishline.com, but other than the jack pads...they have what are reffered to as "bumper sleeves": Finish Line Accessories These are 5/8" ID and 3/4" OD...so they appear to be hollow tubes. What else is needed besides the sleeves, jack pads and grommets? Not sure exactly what is needed. I'm not clear on how the jack pads would connect to the frame etc...if the sleeve/tube is hollow? Thank you very much for any assistance, -Dave |
They didn't concern them selves with that...just make sure the car looks complete and buttoned up...

I am trying to replace quick jacks with overriders.
I may be tearing my hair out between metric and Imperial threads. |
never had an issue while going through the registration process last year, got my sticker this year no problem, I just have the quick jacks.

Awesome, thank you...appreciate it.
Anyone have any good leads on where I can purchase the necessary hardware for the quick jacks...at a reasonable price? Thanks a lot, -Dave |

NYS is a very anal state when it comes to safety inspections, so far I have the quick jack stands vs the Nudge bar in the front and the regular bumper in the rear---no problems at inspection time. These are my 2 cents on the matter. Lou (Basque1) |
No issues with bumpers or any other safety equipment. They did question the lack of back up lights. I just told the inspector the orignals did not have them and the car was correct to the period. They accepted that for an answer.

Great, thanks guys...that really helps a lot.
